I bought the Bosch Professional GST 12V-70 as a compact jigsaw for controlled, accurate work rather than heavy cutting. I already own larger 18V tools, so this was always intended for sheet materials, trim work, and jobs where visibility, balance, and accuracy matter more than outright power. I picked it up in an Amazon sale for under £90, which significantly improves the value proposition compared to its usual price. Build quality is exactly what I expect from Bosch Professional. The tool feels solid and well assembled, with tight tolerances and no rattles or flex anywhere. Despite being compact, it doesn’t feel toy-like or fragile. The housing is sturdy, the shoe feels well machined, and overall it gives confidence that it will hold up to regular workshop use rather than occasional DIY only. Size and balance are a major strength. It’s small, light, and very well balanced, making it easy to control with one hand when needed. This also translates directly into accuracy. Visibility of the cut line is excellent, and combined with the glide shoe and anti-splinter guard, it’s easy to keep cuts straight and clean. For curved cuts, it tracks predictably without wandering, which is not something I can say about many compact jigsaws. In real-world use, accuracy is where this tool stands out. Cuts in plywood, MDF, and laminate are clean and controlled, with minimal vibration. The blade guidance feels precise, and blade changes are quick and tool-free. Compared to cheaper jigsaws or older compact models, including some Makita equivalents, this feels noticeably more refined and easier to keep on line. Battery life is better than expected for a 12V tool. With a decent Bosch 12V pack, it comfortably lasts through typical shed or workshop jobs without feeling like you’re constantly swapping batteries. Runtime feels well matched to the tool’s intended workload. It’s efficient rather than aggressive, which suits both the platform and the form factor. Power is the obvious limitation and worth being clear about. Bosch rates it for up to 70 mm in wood, which is realistic but not something you want to push continuously. It will handle thicker material, but slowly and with patience. There’s also no orbital action, which some users may miss for faster rough cuts. This is not a framing or demolition jigsaw, and buying it expecting that would be a mistake. Overall, this is a very well-built, accurate, and compact jigsaw that prioritises control, visibility, and build quality over raw power. At under £90, it’s excellent value if you already own Bosch 12V batteries or want a precise secondary jigsaw. At full price, it still makes sense for the right user, but the sale price makes it an easy recommendation.

If you are considering this you probably already have a tool in the 10.8 Bosch range. This is a nice addition and highly recommended. Comes with a fine blade and a rapid cut blade as well as dust tube and L boxx inlay. Solid feel to it and v easy to use. The dust extractor tube makes it easier to see where you are cutting. Only 4 stars as still a little pricey I think. UPDATE MAY 2016 I have upped this to 5 stars. The tool has proved to be worth the money and has paid for itself in saved costs

These Bosch Professional tools are a huge leap in terms of quality. This jigsaw is nice and light, easy to grip and having the battery makes life so much easier for house jobs.

It is a decent little jigsaw, handy when laying flooring, I chose this as was thinking of changing to a cordless jigsaw for smaller jobs, however I let the low price distracted me from noticing this jigsaw doesn't have a trigger pull, it's got a slide switch on the side which can be a bit annoying being left handed, the other problem is the lack of dust blower to clear sawdust from in front of the blade. Regardless , this is still my go to tool for quick cuts on smaller jobs

Excellent little tool. Small and light enough to use accurately with one hand. Some reviews complain about it not having a trigger, but the on/off switch design actually makes it easier to adjust your grip while using it to cut complex shapes. Battery life is fine considering the small battery size, and so far it has cut through everything I’ve thrown at it (wood up to 20mm thick) with ease. Obviously it’s only 12V so it’s no powerhouse but I’m really pleased with it.

Love Bosch, I have bought this to compliment my full range of 10.8, 18v & 36v equipment. Start with don't bother with the clear safety guards, they obscure View (if you're sensible with tool then this is really unnecessary anyhow) . It is a light duty jigsaw so don't expect the world (I've bought it primarily to cut out larger spot lights in plaster board) have used on metal and also timber did the job but and here's the big but it's extemely power hungry so make sure you've a 4ah battery or plenty of 2ah, it's a light duty tool and I'm going to use it to replace my Pad saw. I've not given it a 5 star as it has a on/off switch instead of a trigger which on any cutting tool I feel is not the cleverest choice by Bosch. Also 10.8 LED light, Best Buy aside from the drill driver.

Amazing tool, like the other Bosch 12 volt Professional tools I've recently purchased it's quite powerful using a 4Ah battery. I have little problem with blade wander as I use a slow forward pressure and keep my eye on the blade / cut line. It is slightly heavy but there's a lot of gearing and mechanisms inside, and for typical working on the level the weight is not a problem. Typical Bosch build quality as expected.

PREMESSA: sono un Hobbysta avanzato nella mia ormai più che ventennale esperienza ho usato vari seghetti alternativi, di questo mi sono innamorato. è entrato a fare parte della mia linea di elettroutensili Bosch professional a pieno merito. molto preciso, perfettamente bilanciato, si impugna e si guida molto bene. Chiaramente a patto di usare le lame giuste per il tipo di lavoro che si ha in mente e che le stesse siano di alta qualità. Bisogna mettersi in testa che per avere lame per tagli dritti e curvi, per legni duri e morbidi, per i multistrato e, per chi li usa, per i truciolari ed MDF bisogna spendere almeno un centinaio di euro, ma facilmente di più. se si crede che una lama sia efficace per tutto allora il seghetto tenderà a fare tagli obliqui e fuori squadro. devo confessare che da sempre il seghetto alternativo è il mio strumento preferito. se di buona qualità (come questo) e se si usano lame di alta gamma, regala grandi soddisfazioni. con questo e un buon trapano avvitatore oltre che qualche strumento di misura, puoi fare davvero molto.

Machine sur batterie 12V, idéale pour tous les bons bricoleurs. Fiable et pratique. Tout simplement géniale !

Scie sauteuse de qualité, utilisée pour couper du parquet flottant. Très content de la qualité de coupe (même s’il faut prendre le coup de main). L’appareil respire la qualité. La compatibilité avec les batteries 12V de la marque est un grand plus. Par contre je trouve que le bouton de marche/arret est pas super bien placé. De même que le petit bouton pour avoir la lumière qui lui non plus hyper visible.
