I'm a size 7, and these fit perfectly right out of the box. I was a little worried about sizing, as some reviews mentioned they run large or small, but these are spot-on. I tried them on with my usual, regular, thin cotton socks (my go-to footwear choice throughout the year), and the fit is comfortable with or without an additional insole. The comfort level is truly surprising. I'd heard horror stories about the dreaded Dr. Martens breaking-in period, but I haven't experienced any of that so far. I wore them around the house to see how they fit and they felt great. No pinching, no rubbing, just comfortable support. This was a huge relief, as I was prepared for some discomfort. I love these boots, and I had to edit this review as I had to return them as the one that looked different started leaking rain water in and my foot was soaked! Think these boots have been glued and not heat welded and sewn like the authentic Dr. Martens off their official site. I ordered authentic docs from their site and they're like wearing slippers compared to these! They're a little snug especially with a thicker sock. The colour is amazing, not in your face. The one boot looked slightly different in shape from the other and is rubbing and digging into the back of my heel and leg, I am leaving them open past my ankle so they don't cause further damage as my foot now has a sore on it where it's rubbed. I am having to wear a bandage to stop it digging in me any further. I would think this will settle down when they are worn in a bit. Docs are notorious for being hard to wear in. Seller recommended. Fast delivery. Well packaged. Good price.

I bought these at a very good price (just below £70). After reading reviews from previous buyers I was sure that these were original ones despite the rather low damage to my wallet and I can only confirm this. Docs need to be broken in throughly which can take some time and I expected this to take a few weeks thanks to the rather stiff leather. But no, wearing two pairs of socks and protecting my heal with a rather big plaster I was able to walk in them for long times right from the beginning. They are clearly one of my most comfortable shoes. I know I'll have trouble as soon as I use the shoes with only one pair of socks thanks to the hard-edged heel cap which is so typical for most Docs. To avoid this I usually tape over the edges of the heel caps with some good duct tape which always worked in the past. As the adhesive of those tapes tend to stick to the inside of the shoe after their removal I should make clear that it won't be possible to wear the shoes without the tape at a later time.

I bought my first pair of Doc Martens 7 or 8 years ago, I bought them used and I still have them, from autumn till spring they were my only pair of shoes. So theis Christmas I bought this pair, and they are very good, I like them.

This is the first time I ever bought Dr. Martens, but after saving up money and deciding what shoes to buy I figured out that investing in a good pair of shoes is a good idea. I live in Cornwall, UK, so it rains a lot. I needed shoes to be waterproof and that won't break easily as it's not very nice to walk with soaking feet. I gave it a go when I seen all of these amazing reviews. Hopefully they will last a long time as I am a student, and money is a big issue. So far so good. I can't really tell how comfortable they are just yet because they arrived today, but hopefully they'll be comfortable. :) Update: they were massively large on me! I sold mine (just because I didn't wanted to spend £10 to return them and the hassle), thanks god I sold them very quickly so I was able to afford a new pair. Lets hope size 5 will fit better! I would say if you are somewhere between size 5 and size 6 (5.5) like I am, go for smaller size. Even with thick sock they would be massive on me. :( Another update: size 5 is so much better, a tiny bit tight, but they should stretch. :) Conclusion, if you have weird feet like me (size 5.5) get smaller size rather than bigger size.

Bought these boots despite some negative reviews, and I wasn't disappointed, I already have a pair of venga DM's which are soft leather and really comfy but no good for dog walking as the leather is too soft, they are used more as a fashion accessory, so I decided to invest in another pair specifically for walking. Boots arrived quickly and were much more robust than the ones I already have, yes they have a plasticky feel and look to them but they Are new!!!! Very hard wearing leather which seems to be coated for extra durability, on wearing them around the house I found they are like the original DM's, stiff, leather is squeaky, and will take a little breaking in with a couple of pairs of socks to save my poor feet from blisters, but I'm absolutely certain that when they have been broken they will be like a pair of slippers and will last much longer than the walking boots I already have. I have mild arthritis in my toes so find wearing closed shoes very uncomfortable, DM's have a wide front and are perfect for me, I have no or very little discomfort when wearing them so my advice is try a pair of DM's if you have feet problems. Get a pair of funky coloured laces to dress them up and they look great...no one is too old for DM's I am in my mid fifties and get great comments when wearing my soft venga boots with roses embroidered into the leather with a dress and tights, these new ankle boots look just a great with leggings, dress or my walking clothes a versatile boot. Hope my review helps those who are unsure of DM's...;) very very happy with my purchase....
