Don’t listen to the negative reviews here! I am a huge Sushi/Asian/ginger food lover! I normally purchase similar pickled ginger at Publix/grocery store. But the grocery store was out and most of the pickled ginger is colored pink. I got the 2-pack of the white colored ginger (without the pink dye added). Not only does it taste very good, tangy & overall natural, it’s better than the one I normally purchase at Publix. Also with this 12 ounce ginger size, I get 3 times the size/ounces for the same price I would pay for much less quantity at the grocery store!! Highly recommend this product, especially the white ginger version and the 2-pack for the price!

So disappointed to find that while this product advertises "natural" ginger, and "No MSG", "non-GMO", that it has Colorants ("E129", a commonly used Red Azo class of food dyes), Aspartame ("E951" - a particularly bad actor in the digestive tract, this and other artificial sweeteners interfere and kill good stomach flora). And, this product carries that California Prop. 65 Warning label noting "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm."I see that it also has Acetic Acid (vinegar), no problem there I assume, Citric Acid (a food preservative, related to Vitamin C, I believe?), and Potassium Sorbate (another common food preservative). I tried to do some quick web searching to see WHICH of these food additives causes this product to carry the CA Prop 65 Cancer Warning label, though could not find which it is. The Colorant E129 is supposed to be among the safest and lowest risk, among the most widely used colorants in use, though still gives me pause. Perhaps it is the Aspartame? I could only find that CA is considering adding Aspartame to its Propoosition 65 listing.In any case, since I can't return it, I'm throwing it out unopened. Lesson to me for not finding and reading the labeling first.

Get a ton of ginger in each container great value, even better quality. The taste is always consistent I've order this many times and it's always sealed tight with no leaks
