Whistle That Worth It's Weight And More!
Superb craftsmanship. Just tapping on the whistle sounds pretty like a bell. When the whistle slides side to side on my personal silver bead chain, it kinda jingles in a pretty way. The sound is amazing and pretty. Very loud. Attention grabbing head turner for sure. When you blow this whistle it brings back memories of everywhere you heard it before. And that's allot of places, tv shows, games and other major events. Nicest whistle I've ever seen and heard. Worth every penny. Excellent gift. Possible heirloom.

Get it.
Use it for coaching. Great quality. Nine and loud, not too shrill (for a wistle).

This baby knows how to whistle!
Sound the horns for this great Acme whistle! Here's why: Previously, I'd ordered a reasonably priced 'sonic blast' plastic whistle from a well-known competitor, guaranteed to produce a near-deafening sound that could be heard for a mile. Just what I needed! Well, it was hate at first sight, then first sound: the damned thing looked like it belonged in a Crackerjack box. And I could barely hear its wee and puny Whee in my own apartment. My next door neighbors heard nothing at all.I returned it to Amazon and spent an hour researching other whistles, reading a slew of reviews. And this time I went for quality, the hell if my choice cost a few dollars more. For $25 I got a 2.2" long nickel-plated brass pea whistle weighing 1.4 oz...and proudly stamped Made in London. Loud? My neighbors heard me this time--and two asked me where they could buy one.Two thumbs way up--and from now on I order the best.

There is only one whistle.
I first experienced Acme Thunderer whistles whilst learning to skate in the frozen north. Through my hockey years it was a constant - coaches, refs, unruly spectators - everyone had the same whistle. Over the years, its call dug well and truly deep into those winter morning memories. In more recent years I've wanted a whistle for use in the back country and bought a procession of "survival" and "outdoor" plastic things that were advertised as "the best". They are all c**p. There is only one whistle. The Acme Thunderer makes you sound like you're summoning the spirits of your ancestors, of millennia of voices to carry your messages on the wind. There's a moment when you first run the AT whistle up to full throttle that the world around you pauses for it senses something momentous is about to transpire. From those first terrifying moments as a 4 year old when you cross the blue line ahead of the puck and are whistled down for it (hockey reference), to calling out to a distant companion across an arroyo deep in canyon country, every one of a lifetime of whistle calls comes through in that deep rolling call of the AT.I'd buy it again (but I'm not sure I'll ever have to since the thing is built to outlast you and most of your decedents).

Looks, feels and sounds superb
I am a regular volunteer on a narrow gauge heritage steam railway in Australia and wanted a whistle to be proud of. This whistle exudes quality as soon as you open the package and have it in your hand. It has a nice solid weighty feel to it, the surface finish is exquisitely smooth and the sound is superb. I honestly cannot fault it. There are a few videos online that show these whistles being made... well worth hunting down the video and watching to see the care and craftsmanship put into such a fundamentally simple item.
