Fun little toy! A good value.
The media could not be loaded. I got this little train and along with some Basic track for prime day and I’m so glad that I did. The little train is adorable. It has a little man inside that comes out and it fits on the wooden track. My grandson had a few little wooden trains but no track so he is really going to love this, it is super easy to operate. My grandson is a year and a half and I’m sure he will have it down in no time.

No.1 in Testing. Most Powerful of all the battery engines we have tried.
My child and I have recently started and expanded “our” wooden train collection including battery engines to pull all the cars. Naturally, this involved practically purchasing most battery engines on the market to compare them against each other. This bullet engine was put to the test against its steam engine design counterpart offered by the same company that is controllable with a remote as well (has fwd/reverse lights/sounds), Brios Mighty Red and h2o Steam Engine, and then the single button basic locomotive offered by the same company as this bullet engine.Hands down this bullet engine is the best. It operates on two AA batteries and this provides superior power and speed compared to all of those tested, most of which run off of one AA or more commonly available one to two AAA batteries. It was able to easily post the best time when put to speed lap tests and was able to pull the most cars out of those tested both on flat tracks and going up a single or double incline. Now, add in the fact that you get (and this is important) a line of sight remote to control your trains and this set goes over the top. You can control up to two trains (A&B Signal) from one remote with Fwd/Reverse, Train Horn, & Light control offered from the remote. My suggestion would to be to also pick up the compatible Locomotive black Steam engine that is offered by this same company and pair these two engines off the same remote. Note, this black steam engine came in second in our testing, it runs off one AA battery so is pretty powerful and fast, just not as much as this two AA battery Bullet engine model.Well my rambling has come to an end hope this was helpful and to summarize if you’re looking for one battery engine to buy for your wooden train set, look no further. You’ve found the one.

Fun toy
My grandson fell in love with this train! It's fun to use anywhere, on tracks, or on the floor, even the parents have fun. And the sounds are very realistic.

Not Super Strong, but Not Bad
The wheels on the train don't have a lot of traction, so the locomotive isn't quite a strong as it could be if the wheels were a bit rubberized. But the WEIGHT of the unit (with two AA batteries in there, and some good solid construction) makes for a nice signficant weight... more than I had expected. All in all, not bad. I do just wish it had a bit better traction for the wood tracks... between the two it slips and skids a bit.Pretty Good, tho! And it's really fun to play with, even for us "big kids!"(Why didn't I buy one of these years ago!!!???)

Does not work and no refund offered.
Don't buy from this seller. I opened it for the first time after a year to get it ready for my grandson as a gift, and nothing worked. An 8 step process is included for trouble shooting with the batteries. That should have been my first indication this was junk. I contacted the seller and she wanted a video of my assembling it with batteries so she could "help" me. What? I think I know how to put batteries in. Waste of time. I moved on and realized I've been scammed.

Fun
Trains a bit larger and can hit the edges of mountain passes or railway crossings. Otherwise, love staring at this going around and around. Easily controlled with the controller!
