Sherlock Hound Complete TV Series

One of my childhood shows. Love it.

I heard of this series a long time ago doing some research for another show, I was interested in seeing Sherlock Hound, but didn't know of a good way to view the series. Trully, this complete collection goes above and beyond, not only do you get the english episodes, but the complete Japanese episodes as well. The picture quality of the episodes are crisp, clean, and spectacular to behold. The english captions for the Japanese episodes feel accurate, and timed perfectly. The last disc contains a truck load of special features, such as photos, sketches, all the different intro and end credits for the english and japanese versions, as well as info on how the series was made, and what happened during its production. So to sum it up, if you have wanted to see Sherlock Hound, but did not know how best to enjoy the series. Look no further then this collection, for it is the ultimate way to enjoy Sherlock Hound.To those who put this collection together, Thank you very much.P.S. I highly recommend this series if you're at all a fan of Hayao Miyazaki's works (even though he only directed a small number of episodes). I've never been one to be picky about dubs in anime, but this is one where it's almost worth it to stick with the Japanese. I appreciate the English dubbing for ease of watching, but the inspector's voice is just straight bad. In general it's all just slightly lower energy than the Japanese audio.There's a French collector's edition Blu-Ray set that comes with an art book and some printed art cards for a lower cost than this Blu-Ray set - even with shipping. If you don't care about English at all (or just looking to be a completist), check that out on the French Amazon.

As a fan of the original Doyle stories, this show didn't follow the stories exactly but it was so charming to watch! A great show to introduce children to Sherlock Holmes!

My son loves watching Sherlock Hound stories, he's a young 10. Not to annoying to listen to.

a minor nitpick for me is that it doesn't include the original English-text ending (+ fixed opening) outside of VHS quality footage in the extras, and the original English-text episode titles are completely excluded.Everything else is quite spot-on though, including the remaster of the HBO pilot dub and other extras. The upscaled scenes of the English cut could be better + is missing color grading (and some scenes could just loop/reuse Japanese footage instead of reverting to the SD source), but the overall experience is pretty good.

This anime was on youtube, uploaded by tms before it was taken down. Now finally it's on bluray. The english dub is the same. The front cover looks great, nice artwork. Happy with the purchase. The only downside is it's only one season. Perhaps a remake in the future?
