can't tell your bees without a program
This is an incredible book, with hundreds of eye candy photographs of native bees from around the world. Dr. Laurence Packer (York Univ.) takes us on a global tour of the Bees of the World. The text is informative and engaging. Every serious student of bees (melittology) should have this new book in their personal library. 100 bee genera from all the 7 bee families are highlighted. We learn about their life histories, what flowers they visit and what parasites and predators may attack them. Illustrations are given so that the novice can identify the parts of a bee. The evolutionary origins of bees (from wasps) is discussed along with the modern classification of bees into families, tribes, genera and species. Make a beeline for this wonderful new resource on bees and their flowers.

Small fonts
I must wear a magnifying hood to read the small fonts in this book. Also the coverage of bees of the entire world means that coverage of bees in the USA is meager. Each bee gets too little coverage.
