Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix

Great sound quality!!! I saw someone else post the C.D. they got had terrible sound quality...I feel bad for them it may have been a one off as my C.D. sounds awesome in my stereo. I will say this is a great song selection for a Jimi Hendrix " single C.D. Greatest Hits". As more and more unreleased music discovered by Jimi Hendrix is being made for the public I would imagine a good 2 C.D. of greatest hits will be coming in the future. Everyone always focuses on Jimi Hendrix as a great innovative guitarist & he remains without a doubt one of Rock & Rolls all time greatest guitarist. Jimi Hendrix's guitar work is so good it over shadows what a great voice he had...not so much in great range but in emotional content, songs like " If a 6 was a 9' & " Castles Made of Sand" as well as his cover of " All Along the Watch Tower" are all great examples of this. I feel the movement away from C.D.'s towards MP3 & " Cloud Music" is horrifying!!! We should not compromise quality in sound for convenience ! The difference from Vinyl to good quality C.D.'s are acceptable but further compressing of audio truly destroys sound quality! But back to this C.D., it is a wonderful collection of Jimi Hendrix songs from his era & they sound awesome on a good system!

This collection on vinyl is an absolute must have. I am not going to comment on the music because it's classic Hendrix, nuff said. However, the song choice is excellent and flows very well. This set surpasses the old Hendrix Smash Hits album that all of us have owned at one time or another. What I will comment on is the pressing quality of the vinyl which is quiet and excellent. Superb sonics and fidelity. After a quick cleaning with my enyzme solution and MoFi brushes I was ready spin these records. The music is alive even when listened to at lower volumes. Astounding! There is an excellent punch and vibrancy to the music, and when I cranked it up, holy cow, bliss. I must stress, this is not a low quality rushed out garbage pressing as is the case too often these days. There seems to be good care taken in compiling these records. They were pressed at Quality Record Pressings and come housed in QRP sleeves that are similar to the expensive Mobile Fidelity sleeves I purchase. I am not sure if these use the Master tapes as the more recent Hendrix Legacy reissues, but they sound great and come from the same company so I would hope they would have used as close to the Master tapes as possible for this compilation. I highly recommend getting this if you are a casual Hendrix fan, but beware that you will enjoy this set so much you may end up buying the original LP's at some point.

I so much enjoy listening to Jimmi Hendricks in this album - highly recommended and a keeper in my vinyl collection. The album cover and LP labels are colorful and differentiated. The LPs are great quality, sturdy, not warped nor scratched. The mastering is also high quality, amazing crispy and bright sound in my HiFi setting: Marantz TT15S turntable with moving magnet Clear Audio cartridge, Marantz AV7706 pre-amplifier, Marantz amplifier, Yamaha equalizer, Klipsch Legend loudspeakers (200 Watt per channel). I recommend a buy 👍.

Crisp and clear

At the time of this writing I have been playing guitar for 55 years. Jimi Hendrix is who I try to pattern my playing by. Course I can't touch the level that he played at but I can aspire to. Hendrix is the greatest of all time.

I often think about all the musical gifts Jimi had in store for us. Sadly never to be realized. Rest in peace my brother, making angels laugh and cry as you serenade them.

There will never be another Jimi Hendrix - he was a truly original guitarist and I would have loved to have been at Woodstock to see him melt his guitar playing the "Star Spangled Banner". There are some great tracks like "Purple Haze" (one of the best guitar based tracks ever), "The Wind Cries Mary", "Hey Joe", "All Along the Watchtower", "Little Wing", "Foxey Lady", "Bold As Love" (definitely one of my favorite Hendrix songs of all time), "Castles Made of Sand" (follows well after "Bold As Love") etc. I did miss a few other Hendrix songs on the album though and can't seem to find the Hendrix album I enjoyed as a teenager. What about "Izabella", "Third Rock from the Sun" and "Roomful of Mirrors"? This CD covers a wide range of Hendrix's unique guitar talents, visionary lyrics, and vocals - but it left me wanting more. All this being said - I don't think you could purchase a better CD with better tracks encompassing so much wonderful talent for a mere 7 dollars!!

My husband and I watched a special on Jimi Hendrix and were reminded what a fantastic musician he was! He did things with his guitar no one else did. We have a collection of our favorite CDs that we use when we travel in our car that is not set up for Serius radio or blue tooth. I decided to add this CD to our collection and I surprised my husband with it as part of his Father’s Day present! I tried it out when I was steam mopping the floors and it was pure joy. Great music!! I ordered the Best of collection because I could not decide which songs are my favorites and it IS the best! So far my husband has not had a chance to listen to all of it so the real question is who did I actually buy this for????
