Scotty #135 Portable Camera/Compass Mount Black, One Size

I was looking for a way to mount a GoPro camera on my kayak higher than my terrier buddy so he wouldn’t block the shots. This Scotty cam mount inserted in the 241 deck mount with a 6” extension arm worked perfectly. This camera mount also has an innumerable variety of angles it can be rotated.

Great mount for accessories. Solid just be sure to get the 244L base which locks. I didn't and had to hot glue this one in, oh well.I use an old iPhone with google maps app (download maps in advance) and always know where I am on the river. The maps app runs on sattelites and never looses reception or even requires cell service. Yep the air forces gps sattelites are always watching but hey at least we get something for our tax dollars! Ever tried to mount a camera to an inflatable? Perfect solution. I have one at the bow, one at the stern, each with a gear head mount extender. With both the GoPro mount and tripod mount, I can attach 2 GoPro's to each. Used a GoPro Bobber by CamKix (available on amazon) with the built in tripod mount to raise one slightly higher than the other. This gave me room to adjust the tilt and/or use the wider backdoors plus the added security of a bobber.

The camera holder works great but when you set it into the base it wiggles a little, not enough to come out of the mount, but video may come out a little bumpy, I was only turning it on when we were stationary. I haven't yet looked at any video with me moving through the water at a faster pace than drifting on the lake. Hope this helps

I love this mount, since it fit with every scotty product, I was able to customize and set up as much as I wanted.It's stable and completely adjustable, kinda like a gimble, but obviously you lot ot in place once you find the right angle for you.Both sides of the platform are ready for your camera, phone or whatever you want. For the right side you need a clip that usually comes with action cameras y for the left side (where I have it mounted) you need the base that screws in.

Worked great with my GoPro Hero 3. My Wildy Ride 115x Angler has rail mounts and this fits perfectly allowing me to get the perfect viewing angle. The mount is very sturdy and stable. I would recommend this mount and will buy again if I pick up another GoPro.

I use this in conjunction with the Scotty Gear Head Mount Extender and feel that I now have the perfect (and highly adjustable) camera mount. Works perfect in a Scotty 244 flush mount base. You could also add another gear head extender segment to it to get your camera up even higher (like if you want to mount the camera behind you over your shoulder sometimes).FYI, this mount has a standard camera tripod mount as well as a GoPro slide mount that also works with the Swann 1080p ActionCam mounts.

Camera always at the ready! This camera mount really exceeded my expectations.... Yes the product picture is misleading if you do not read the description fully... I used the camera mount in conjunction with a separate FLUSH base mount which I had to attach to my kayak. Once you attach your camera, you must position the mount so the swivel tightening knob does not interfere with the camera tightening nut. After that the mount easily swivels into your desired position with a slight loosen / tighten to the knob. What I really like is having my camera always at the ready in front of me, so I can snap pictures or videos in just a second, without having to pull the camera out. I took hours of videos and many snapshots on my recent 11 day kayak paddle down the Green River in Utah. I also employed a Scotty Gear Head Mount Extender which positioned the camera directly in front of me while paddling.
