A belt that cinches and stays cinched. Very good to have during spasm times.
ok so i dont review much but this is one that requires a review. Let me explain the difference between this back support vs my previous one. Which by the way isnt cheap and ive had it over 15 years. Back supports usually have a sort of give and stretch after you close the big ends or tighten the straps down. This king of kings has zero give. It will expand only if you remove the side cinch straps from crossing the middle but its not a stretchy give. its a loosening give, like a belt on your jeans. Once you set the tension, whether with or without the tightening of the 2 side straps, You wont get flex. So if your tight standing up and you sit, your belt will get tighter. If you then lay down, you might feel looser because the way the body fluff shifts hahaah This isnt necessarily a bad thing. The only downside is that you have to adjust from standing to sitting. So what i do is i set my tension when putting the belt on and then i cinch down to the support i need. You will absolutely be able to squeeze your stomach against this belt and get massive support. I dont think ive ever gotten this much support from a belt other than a weight lifting type belt. But heres the beauty of this belt. I get the full support of this belt while not feeling like im wearing a bulky belt. This belt is like a corset and will cinch down really tight without digging into any one spot of your sides. Your abs will have a resistance to push against as you strain you muscles to move. Im speaking from a perspective of someone who has pain and just needs to walk and get up or sit. Im going thru a bad spasm right now and this brace is very very helpful. The cinch down process is really spread all around the body very evenly by the way its designed. This belt does not feel cheap at all. Its a very simple concept the way they made it.. Im comparing this belt to a freedom LSO medical belt that i used since my first back surgery that i use for full support. I truly believe in having multiple tools in the arsenal. This king of kings belt is a huge tool to have.

The best
This is the best back brace I’ve ever had. The double latch works well and really helps my back. My PT person recommended it and happy she did

A big improvement over my last back brace
Let me start with the fact that I green stick broke my back in 88 and have not been in a brace since 1989. The brace they sent me home with and had me wear for 14 months had steel bars in it and was twice as tall as this one. I do like the fact that development has made these braces a lot lighter, and I would think that at some point carbon fiber will make its way into back braces. This belt is not there yet but could be easy if a racer talked to the guys building these things. The brace offers support and when using the pulley system you can get a lot of relief when tight, however, this creates an issue when you sit. The belt rides up your back. I correct this by easing the tension on the pulley system and allowing it to float when sitting. In relation to the above issues if they simply put a suspender clamp on it just below the pulley system at the bottom of the belt it would prevent the belt from riding up when sitting. Adding some carbon fiber curved panels would also improve the support. I do not believe that these additions would come anywhere close to what the belt weighted in 89 with a steel flat bar in it. Overall I am ok with it as is, but I used to race motocross and play football; add the green stick back break in the mix along with all the knee braces, finger splints, wrist braces, and everything else; I am probably somewhat of an expert as to what one wants and needs in the belts and support business. You just have to be flexible in what you expect, and since that is not the case because you are after all looking for support to something that either should move one way and wants to move another or is moving and should not; just remember that you are buying a belt that is ok, not custom fitted to you and you are buying it off the internet for a third of the price of just seeing the pro who does the fitting.

Used over 7 years - still works!
I have used this brace over 7 years & it simply works. It imobilizes S1 - L1 vertebrae securely & stays comfortably in place. I love it's adjustability and durability. I am purchasing my 6th King of King braces because, I've given 4 away to friends who now also swear by it. My docs have recommended fusing me from S1 to T9 but NO WAY. I might as well strap a board to my torso. But, the King of Kings brace keeps me safe and feeling supported. I have received two prescription high tech medical back braces over the years and, these also are effective. But, I find myself using this brace because it works better & is more comfortable. I highly recommend it. It won't cure you, but, it will relieve pain & allow a more active lifestyle.

Well designed, good quality product
Well designed, quality product. Pulls way tighter than any of the elastic versions in the drugstores (none of which provided any useful support, even the “heavy duty” versions I tried). Good degree of adjustability that’s easy to fine tune and holds reliably. I used their sizing recommendations >exactly as they tell you to< and found the sizing chart to be right on target. Unfortunately, for me I was right on the border between medium and large. Their recommendation was to go to the next size larger. That worked well, until I lost weight (preparing for upcoming spine surgery). After losing about 20 lbs (some of it abdominal fat, some muscle loss inn my legs due to decreased activity), the belt no longer tightened sufficiently. Tightening straps work very well, Velcro attachments are real strong. Only problem is that if you are bending or kneeling a lot, the belt will crunch up so it’s not comfortable and not supporting as much. The Velcro won’t un-crunch on it’s own. I don’t really see that as a defect, but be forewarned! It’s well padded, but not excessively — just right for comfort except when the front gets completely rolled up from bending as described above. Whether this belt actually helps or not will depend on your condition and goals for it. I can’t address those, but if you want a belt that really provides support, this is the only type that will get tight enough to do anything. This brand/model is very well built, adjustable, comfortable, and easy to use.

If You’re A Woman with a Short Torso, Beware
So at first I almost returned this, because for 5 days, I was in a lot of pain with this on. So before you say “well did you fix the back of it, did you adjust it?” Yes I did all of that. The problem is, I don’t think this is meant for short torso people, because the back brace itself is long in size. On top of that I do have a round butt that sits up high, and a small waist (about 26). So it was painful. (I bought a small, and I weigh about 130lbs). But the only reason why I kept it is because it does work. I do a lot of heavy lifting at work, where I have to lift boxes between 30-80lbs and sometimes even lift overhead. So it does the job for supporting. Apart of me wonders if I can still return it because it’s been a month, and I still feel pain and I still have bruises on my body. The bruises have been there for a good month now and the bruises still hurt. Be mindful when measuring yourself. I think this is not meant for small frames and short torsos.

Best back brace!
It's my second time purchasing this back brace. I bought it several years ago for my husband. High quality, best support for back, especially really good for lower back pain. Husband told me that it gives little pain on belly area when it is new (material is harder, i guess), so it will take few times to get softer. Anyways, overall, this is the best lower back brace!
