It is mild
I've watched many reviews of this new razor that have varied from one extreme to another as to its level of aggression. For me the aggression level is my first and foremost issue to determine whether it will work for me. But that seems to be the last thing most of our reviewers mention if at all. So contrary to those reports that it is not mild, my first use (with a 7 o'clock yellow) was very much a mild shave. Let me throw out some comparisons: slightly milder than a Merk 34, a Rockwell on 2 or 3, close to a Henson medium, a Baili 179. Of course this is just my opinion. Hope this is helpful. All the best to you all.

Bangs out a good shave
I'm a total noob when it comes to wet shaving and I cannot overstate how obscenely easy this thing is to use, as long as you have a good blade in it. not the closest shave but I don't get the shivers when this thing goes on my neck. Thanks Parker!

Feels good in the hand and not aggressive.

Unbelievable sharpness...
The first time I used a 'safety' razor, it pissed me off when discovered that here was was one blade that was doing what 3,4,even 5 blades couldn't get right, or give a clean shave the first time; so, from now on, this is my brand. -R

Feels so good to hold.
Well balanced, substantial and goes after the whiskers. I have a medium beard not that heavy. For me--with good preparation (lots of hot wash cloth, good slick soap, maybe even a pre-shave oil) this can be nearly a one-pass razor. Maybe mid aggressive and can select different blades to get more aggressive. This blade tracks solid, and not even a nick from it. As you go along, it rinses so fast!! The grip is so well designed you are not gonna lose your grip. The balance is like a darn gyroscope!! Parker makes superb razors and style-wise they are light years ahead of the rest. Solid, sexy, elegant. I ordered the gunmetal finish too--it's coming. Be advised: I am a Parker fanboy and have several.

A high value, well designed safety razor.
I’ve been shaving with a safety razor for 5-7 years now. I shave my head and face. The razors I had in the past (King C. Gillette and Dorco Prime) were good, but I wanted something a little more aggressive and with a little more texture on the handle. The Parker 78R is pretty much everything I was looking for without spending a lot of money. It is more aggressive, but by the second or third shave, I had no nicks. With every new razor there is a small learning curve, so this can be expected. The handle and razor design are great. Plenary of grip, the head is relatively small, and the razor blade is covered on the ends. I highly recommend this razor.

I wanted to like it
I’ve been a wet shaver for over 10 years. I have some really nice stuff at this point. I wanted a cheaper 3 piece razor to keep in my travel kit, after going back to a cartridge razor while on vacation.Enter the Parker 78R. It had some decent reviews on several shaving channels on the tube. I loved the color and the knurling. The weight was nice and heavy. However, at first the threads were super stiff and wouldn’t unscrew. Then I noticed they were slightly rusted together. The pun metal color is already pealing off where the handle meets the head. And the shave… the shave is rough. 3 different blades, several different shave soaps. I haven’t had this many nicks since I started and it doesn’t really cut my whiskers efficiently.Could this be a good razor for a beginner? Maybe. But I would spend a little more and get a Merkur 34, Muhle R89 or Edwin Jagger 89.It’s usable, but barely. It looks cool. 2 stars.

A wondaful shaving tool!!
At age 50 I have made one of the best decision in my life by throwing away the cartridge razors and going to the safety razors world. This razor is my first try and the one which makes me feel a bit silly for all those wasting years with junk plastic razors. There is not enough words to describe the unbelievable difference in the shaving quality. I heard a lot about the learning curve but the razor adjustment on my face was instant with no issues. The packing could be improved though with all the 3 parts connected rather than separate.

Impressive!!
I bought this razor because of the way the sides of the blade are hidden and enclosed inside the head. I mainly use it to shave my head and this allows me to safely shave around and behind my ears without the worry of the side of the blade cutting my ear. Initially I thought it would be a milder shave, but throw in a sharper blade and this thing is one efficient shaver. Super smooth and cuts very close. The fit and finish is not perfect on my razor and the threading in the handle looks a little questionable, but I’m going to keep using it and if it ever wears out I’ll gladly buy another 78r. Overall it’s a fantastic razor at a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend it to new and experienced wet shavers!!

One razor to rule them all?
Very impressive razor. I own the Merkur 34C, Merkur 42, Rockwell 6c & 6s, Rex Envoy and I will admit that the Parker 78R sits at the very top of the quality price ratio. If you like mild and comfortable shaves at a more than decent price, you found your match. You can increase the level of aggressiveness with different blades and I like that option in a razor. It has a low profile, long handle and it is very maneuverable. For beginners or advanced wet shavers, this is an absolute must have. As a reference point, the 78R feels like a Rockwell 6s on plate # 3.

Control de calidad
Realize la devolución porque la hoja de afeitar no es la misma en ambos lados, esta desigual, la calidad es mala.

Worth the price. Overall good experience using this compared to cartridge razors.
This is my first time using a DE razor in over a decade and I'm completely satisfied with this purchase. I was a bit concerned using a DE razor after such a long time, but found the shave a lot closer than Gillette Fusion 5 and with fewer nicks.I got the Satin Chrome color, the handle is texured and doesnt slip even if it is wet. The weight of the razor also helps in minimizing the effort required. This is a solid razor even for first timers.
