Nice little vacuum pump
I haven't had this product for long so I can't report on it's long-term durability, but I am very pleased with the quality and useability, especially considering the price. This package says only OEM, but the pump is branded Mityvac and I believe that it's sold under that name as well. The product appears to be designed and sold by Lincoln Industrial of St. Louis, MO. It is manufactured in China. See [...] This set looks a lot like the model MV7000 with one fewer right-angle bleeder adapters. Note however that the MV7000 is rated to produce 25 PSI pressure. The OEM 25136 I received from Amazon can only develop 12 PSI (measured on two separate guages)The set comes with a nice selection of adapters for attaching the pump lines to various vacuum ports and even some plugs for plugging hoses you've temporarily removed for testing.Another accessory that's worth mentioning is a collection vessel that allows the pump to be used for bleeding brake systems or other small hydraulic control systems. It also has two different right-angle adapters for attaching to common automotive bleed fittings. What I didn't expect is that the pump has a second port that can apply pressure. This could be useful for testing controls the require a pressure signal rather than a vacuum signal and can supply up to 12 PSI. By the way, the vacuum port can produce a 25"Hg vacuum as advertised. The pump is very easy to operate to draw a vacuum or apply pressure, requiring only modest hand strength. It has a trigger that can be pulled to release the pressure/vacuum when you're done testing. The release is "all at once" and would be difficult to modulate if that was important. Drawing the vacuum can be done with reasonable precision. Applying pressure is less precise since it's developed by the strength of the pump handle's return spring. But can be modulated if necessary by taking small strokes with the pump.Another unexpected plus is the user manual. It contains 23 well written pages that describe how to use the tool as well as diagnostic proceedures and some theory of operation for PCV valves, EGR valves, Spark Delay valves, electrical/vacuum solenoids, thermal controlled vacuum switching valves (called PVS, TIC, and DTVS by Ford, Chrysler, and GM respectively). The manual also has a section on brake bleeding as well as cautions when working with ABS systems. It even has a separate section dealing with motorcycle brakes and bench bleeding master cylinders. For some reason there are an additional three test procedures specifically for Lawn Boy mower primer bulbs, fuel inlet valve, and tank shut-off valve. The content is repeated in Spanish, French, and German for a total of 70 pages.Even though I have a pretty good general understanding of the systems discussed in the manual, I actually learned quite a few tips and tricks that I didn't know. It was well worth the read. One thing to note is that the documentation specifically prohibits the use of this pump with flammable liquids and gases. I suspect that this is more for safety and legal reasons than anything else. But, who knows, maybe the pump seals wouldn't handle the solvent power of gasoline or alcohols. Air and brake fluid are officially supported and that's what I bought it for anyway.

Junk.
0 stars. Bought this about 6 months ago. Haven’t used it until today and it doesn’t even work. Doesn’t pull any vacuum! Now I’m stuck with this broken tool and can’t return it. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Name brand tool with a big discount!
I looked all over to find the right pump to use when bleeding brakes. My father-in-law had this specific model and I searched high and low, only to find it on amazon at a great price. The pump is actually a Mityvac and is resold under the OEM label. It worked well, however we had to sand the mating surfaces of the collection container and apply a little fluid there to get the best seal possible. We definitely got our money's worth out of it and we saved a lot of money doing this ourselves.

plastic housing!
This product is good, the only thing is I am concerned about the housing being made of plastic. How long will it last? The OEM I bought 20 years ago broke and had to replace it. I just hope I get the same amount of years out of this one. I have used it 10 times so far to diagnose leaking solenoids in the evap system. Has worked great so far! Can't beat it for the price!

Good value and easy to use.
Did not work for my brake job but I'm not saying it wouldn't work for you. My brake calipers were Chinese made (Onaion Reeper) so that might have something to do with it? I had to buy a vacuum pump that hooked up to my air tank, that did work for me.

It's a tool
I purchased because I thought it would make bleeding brakes easier but really nothing beats the old school way of doing that. Great idea but I think it needs improvement but it works just takes longer the only advantage of this is that you can do it by yourself without having that extra person pumping the brakes and holding the pedal down.

Awesome!
Great for preventing any air in your brake lines when bleeding the brakes. Wish it came with instructions though. Good price. Would recommend

Scammed. The item is NOT what is ACTUALLY shown. Cheap.
This is not the product that was described. I feel robbed and scammed. This product is deplorable quality. It broke on first use. In fact, it broke BEFORE its first use. I'm not satisfied with this purchase at all and would advise everyone to avoid this listing due to the false advertisement of the product. The item that was listed here was a good quality build item made of metal. However, the product I got was 100% plastic and broke literally 2 minutes after unboxing it.Edit: NOW THE SELLER HAS UPDATED THE LISTING AFTER SCAMMING EVERYONE (picture of previously listed pump above). FALSELY ADVERTISED A PRODUCT OF BETTER QUALITY AND THEN AFTER PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE CHEAP QUALITY ITEM THEY RECEIVED, THIS SELLER UPDATED THE PICTURES AND FLAT OUT IGNORED THE COSTOMERS WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT GETTING SCAMMED. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. THIS PRODUCT IS ALL PLASTIC AND BREAKS IN FIRST USE. THIS PRODUCT IS DEPLORABLE QUALITY. THIS SELLER DOES NOT CARE. DO NOT BUY! TOOL DESIGNED TO PULL 30 IN. OF VACUUM AND BROKE AT 10 IN. OF VACUUM AFTER 3 PUMPS. ENTERNAL SUCTION CUPS POPPED OUT AND HANDLE PIN UP TOP CRACKED OFF. I AM OFFICIALLY REPORTING THIS SELLER.
