Q: how deep is the pan ?

From inside the pan top to bottom depth is 2 1/2 inches cooking area. This works great for frying chicken legs and thighs, chili as you would do in a crock pot, an all around excellent size for a family of 4 - 6.

Q: Does this skillet have hot spots?

I have been very happy with this skillet. Haven't noticed that it has hot spots

Q: How long can this product be used?

We liked it a lot at first. But it only lasted about 10 months. At some point, everything we cooked started sticking on the bottom. The electric skillet we bought to replace it, we have now been using for 18 months and it’s still as good as new—the Presto 06857 16-inch Foldaway Skillet—our FAVORITE skillet EVER.
