And, I wasn’t disappointed. The jumper comes in a very nice hard shell style transportation/storage case, and contain everything needed to be ready to use it. Even the USB power block, which is often missing on other models. Talking about USB, this battery jumper devices have USB ports as well, and we often use this in our garage as an oversized battery bank as well when not used to jump start anything, to charge phones and the like, so it’s very useful in all sorts of emergencies. Using the device was very easy really. After being sure it has a full charge, I just plugged it to my truck’s battery, and it immediately detected it and turned one automatically. All I had to do was crank the engine, et voilà, the truck started right at the first try! Once fully charged, I can store this device in my truck, and forget about it for six months or more, until the next time it’s needed. They do however need topping up occasionally, especially if they get very cold or very hot repeatedly. So, something to keep in mind to avoid having a battery jumper that will have a depleted battery, just at the most needed moment. There are other little details that make the JS3000 easier to use. It turns on with a single short press to the power button, as does the embedded flashlight, which cycles through multiple on and emergency flashing cycles. Other units I owned in the past required assorted long and confusing sequences of presses, which might protect against turning on accidentally, but was a hassle when I actually needed to use it. Like every other lithium jump starter, it has of course a reverse polarity detection, alerting you if you connect the clamps to the wrong battery terminals. Keep in mind that the best time to think about shopping for a portable jump starter is not when you’re stuck by the side of the road with a dead battery. Compact, affordable, and easy to use, the latest lithium-ion chargers like this one could be a life saver, and are also small enough to fit in a glove compartment or under the seat, yet it can start your car (or truck) without jumper cables or waiting for help. Definitely a recommended purchase, which I am happy with.

This bumper box is awesome for the most part. It’s compact enough to carry anywhere- fits under a seat or in a trunk no problem. Like stays on the top of my tool box. Cable length is long enough to reach even heavy duty top wing nut batteries. It works, and it works AMAZINGLY WELL. Attach the cables and the unit auto detects the battery. If it’s low, hold the boost button and start the vehicle. You have about 15 seconds of start time before the boost feature disables. The limited boost time is one of the things I don’t like about it. The jump pack stops throwing voltage after the boost cycle, meaning that if the battery doesn’t have enough charge, everything shuts off. It would be nice to have a fast charger to come with it. That being said, this thing is an awesome value for the money. It started a completely dead 6.7 powerstroke f450. I mean completely dead- oth batteries had 1.5 volts. It started a 7.3 powerstroke that has been sitting on the lot for 5 years. I had to use the pack twice, because the first time was just for fuel priming. Started the truck up both times without issue. If it’ll do that old 7.3, it’ll do any regular vehicle you want it to. It also has emergency lights, and can double as a power pack.

2012 Honda Accord V6 completely dead battery left the lights on from 8 AM. Got off at work at 5:00pm just put the wires in the box and hook it to the battery and it starts automatically. You don’t even have to push the button and it started right up good product. I also tried it with my cell phones. They both outlets were great and the flashlight.

I don’t feel like I have challenged the device for a very in-depth review though it has worked well so far. I have a second car that I do not drive very often that sits out in the cold. Twice the battery was deader than dead. I seen people complaining that you need to have “some” power in your battery or it will not work. After reading those reviews, I bought it anyway. Sure enough, it did not work for me at first. The instructions say something about the light NOT turning on. I seem to recall it was beeping and blinking red or something. I don’t recall, and I don’t have a dead battery to retest. So the instructions did not describe what happens when battery is dead properly. I did know that you were supposed to push the “boost” button when battery is dead, which I did. It did not give me power to start. This said, my first over-reaction was all the other reviews were right. Then, I looked at the instructions and seen you need to press Boost button for AT LEAST 3 SECONDS. Wallah! It worked great. Plenty of power to start my 2.0L 4 cylinder Volkswagen (not too challenging?). That part of the instructions was right, and I suspect others writing reviews ran into the same issue as me. Time will tell how long it lasts, though so far it seems like a good unit which is well designed and sturdy. I am glad I bought it. Update, a few days after initial review. I got to use the device again as a friend had a dead battery. Dead enough that the door locks did not work, and it would not take much of a charge anymore. See video for how actual operation is different than manual instructions. As you can see, the unit worked great. Again, not much of a challenge this time either, just a 1.5L(?) Honda fit with a very small battery.

As a senior, single woman, this item is invaluable! I have a large SUV (4.7liter V8 Toyota Sequoia) and this works EVERY SINGLE TIME! I've used jumper cables all my life. They work great but stress me out using them. And if the cables don't reach, that presents a whole other problem. Then you need another vehicle..and the last thing I want is to be stuck by myself, after dark, alone and vulnerable. This jump pack (2000A) is amazing because it is super simple to use, no need for another vehicle and I never worry anymore about a dead battery. For the safety and convenience it is worth 10X the price. Get one for each vehicle you own! For youngsters just beginning to drive, for your wife and daughters and especially for the senior citizens in your life. Give yourself and them peace of mind. Just 4 steps to use! I found out about these chargers, and this brand in particular from a youtube channel called "Den of Tools" Excellent channel and highly recommended. Even if you have a super dead battery that won't even crank, just use the boost button and you are ready to go!! I use my Sequoia to pull my campers. If I'm out boondocking away from everything and especially if there is no cell signal, I can always feel at ease that I have this with me. Do not hesitate, do not think about ordering this, just order it!!!! Believe me, you will have a much less stressful drive just around town or even on a 2 day or more camping trip. This is a fabulous device! I had the car parked in a New Jersey parking garage for 2 weeks. When I came back, the battery was completely discharged. TOPDON saved the day! I can't imagine what a tow truck would have charged me. I have used it a number of times. Perfect jump starter…
