Works perfectly. Arrived from Japan faster than some transcontinental North American shipments.
50GB rewriteable discs at a good price. I've used all of them. They formatted without problems. The came to my home in Kentucky from Japan in about a week (including weekend). I really like the inkjet printable surfact on them. Even if I don't print to them, I feel as though that printable surface adds protection against scratches and other damage.Burn software verified each task as completed without error. I use these for archiving my hard drive backup "images." I use a Linux based software package that operates from its own "live" disc. Because I set the software application to do several simultaneous verifications of the burn, it will take about 4.5 hours to do a 45GB hard drive "imaged" backup but that's entirely understandable and expected. Nice thing for me is that where it used to require about 10 DVD's and where I had to manually feed 10 fresh DVD's into a drive, I can now just let the program run unattended as it puts the image onto one 50GB BD-RE.I've got a LG Blu-Ray burner model WH14NS40 mounted in a Vantec Nexstar NST-530S3-BK External 5.25 Enclosure USB3.0. The LG burner is limited to 2X max speed for BD-RE (Blu-Ray Disc Recordable Eraseable) type discs. The first thing I do is check each disc using Nero's "full erase" function so that Nero can find bad sectors and mark the bad sectors to be unused. You could also call that "defect management" just as you find used in hard drive technology. I know you would like to hear if any of the 5 discs I received had bad spots. Unfortunately, as best I can tell, Nero does not report if any bad sectors were found. The "full erase" with bad sector discovery takes 80 minutes per disc using Nero 8 on my old computer. (Nero 8 is very, very old.)I haven't tried burning these Verbatim BD-RE 50GB discs using anything else other than my Linux based drive imaging software. That's because I have burned to regular BD-R non-LTH 25GB Verbatims and I only get a max of 2.2X using a current version of ImgBurn. So, even doing a burn to just a regular disc using my setup, I know I can't do better than about 2X. I think my old computer is the limiting factor. But, whereas my LG burner is limited to 2X maximum for these Verbatim BD-RE (Blu-Ray Disc Recordable Eraseable), I know that I'm still going to hit the 2X wall. No need to trial a bunch of software to see if things get better: My computer burn limit is 2X to any Blu-Ray disc no matter what. But, that's okay for my needs.

extremely slow
It takes 1 hour to format the disk and another 1.5 hours to burn the whole disk.

So far, so good. Zero complaints.
So far, so good. They showed up in less than a week from Japan, all 5 discs formatted fine and test images w/verification were performed. Zero issues, typical high Verbatim quality.

Works Everytime
I am so impressed with this product. The cost is extremely low for what you obtain. I find this brand works better that the straight "Verbatim" discs which cost more. I really like the fact that these discs are RE so if an error occurs when burning a video for a client, I do not waste a disc. Just erase the disc and run the burning program again.I do not have a problem with a 2x speed because I truly believe that when burning large videos one has fewer errors at this speed. Even burning a 34 GB video, it only took 34 minutes to burn plus another 34 minutes to verify.Great buy.

Verbatim BD-REs
Received discs quickly. Purchased both a 5-pack of single-layer (25G) and a 5-pack of double-layer (50G) at the same time, and once opened there is no easy way to tell the difference; legend is in tiny letters near the rim of the disc, difficult for someone of my advanced age to read. Both packages, oddly, have three discs with a paper insert for recording information, and two discs without. No idea why the paper inserts would have been so expensive they couldn't afford two more, but there you go. In both sets, a few of the jewel cases were cracked and damaged upon arrival. This is partially due to packing and shipping, and partially due to the jewel cases being made of the flimsiest plastic possible. This, like the missing two paper inserts, are clearly to save money and bring up the profit for Verbatim. As mentioned in other posts, the 25G discs are not manufactured by Mitsubishi/Verbatim; code is CMCMAG-CN2-000 suggesting CMC Magnetics is the manufacturer. However, the code for the 50G discs is VERBAT-IM1-000, implying these discs were indeed manufactured by Verbatim. I take some little comfort in this, but not so much that I am not formatting/verifying all ten of the discs purchased immediately. The speed is 2x, so as others have noted they are a bit slow to format and write; however, the speed is clearly marked, and should come as no surprise. If you want something at a reasonable price that will let you safely test your BR builds before committing them to a BD-R, accept the speed limitations and move on.Before I get to the actual functioning of the discs themselves, I admit I'm confused why a re-writable would be printable. I mean, it isn't like you can erase and re-print, so the printable surface seems something of a waste. Still, a post-it underneath the jewel case lid serves perfectly as a removable reminder of what's burned on the disc...especially important for those discs without the paper sleeve insert...Anyway, using ImgBurn (excellent free program; just be careful not to install any of the offered crapware) and it's "Discovery" mode, I formatted the discs and wrote/verified each one. As noted this takes some hours for each disc, but is well worth the time and trouble as it will hard-test the discs to save you grief later. In my case, one of the 50G dual-layer discs failed validation; a second pass through Discovery showd the same hard errors. (None of the 25G discs failed.) Since I couldn't find any way for a partial refund, I am returning the 50G and will purchase again later.EDIT: Received replacements for the 50G package and again, four of the five were successfully validated, one failed. Not sure I'm going to return them, but pretty sure I can't recommend these. Removing a star on the 50Gs.

Flawless burns, somewhat flawed quality control.
These are the standard by which others are judged. Verbatim is owned by Mitsubishi and makes some of the best disc media on the planet. Worth the extra cost, especially if you need reliability. When purchased, I fully expected them all to work. Sadly (like dentists), 4 out of 5 worked, while the 5th pleaded the 5th. In addition, shipping caused some small pieces inside the cases to break off (tabs in the middle of the disc holder). No fun.On the bright side, Amazon was receptive and made amends. So far, the 4 remaining BD-RE discs have performed flawlessly a number of times. Don't hesitate to get these, especially if you don't need a large pack. They are 2x speed, so don't expect light-speed burns. However, all burns should be flawless. I would buy again if I needed a larger pack...perhaps the 10 or 20 cake pack would work even better.
