This has some pretty serious flaws. The locking mechanism is very hard to engage in the first place. I generally have to open the door and hold both sides of the cat door in order to lock it. The locking system is then very weak, and it's easy for a large cat to push it open with a bit of force. This has happened twice now. The fastener system is ludicrous. It includes very long screws that can't be secured on the other side. I can't even believe it was shipped like that. I can't secure the other side of the cat door and there's sharp screws protruding. If you get this door, you'll have to get your own machine screws.

Fantastic cat door. I had to build a custom 12" x 9' door to fit in the patio door slider. Inserted this door into a thick plexi-glass with the cutout. Dimensions included with the door was off so measure before cutting, something I took for granted. But with a little adjustment, the door was perfect. Finn the cat gives it five star, since he doesn't have thumbs!

Ordered qty 3 of these. Installl was easy on hollow interier doors to allow my pet skunk access to certain rooms. Jigsaw made the install easy although the istructions were a bit vague. Bad part is the the Hard Plastic flap Door was slightly warped on all 3 that I had. Caused opening issues in one direction as it rubbed top of frame. Heat gun with SLOW gentle persuasion resolved but not something a normal DIY'er should have to do. Contacted seller via Amazon and they quickly sent replacement. Great customer service NAPUPRO!

The door is just the right size, the only thing I don't like about it is, the door won't close itself when my fur babies come in, when they go out it closes ok.

Will not lock have to put something in front of it

I am shocked that this thing gets high reviews. I actually found it to be really cheap the little levers that allow you to change if the animal can come in and out are very cheap and hard to use. They get stuck and they won't even go over sometimes. I guess it's kind of hard to explain if you don't have one. I also found it really annoying because when the cats would go outside the flap would just stay open and then when they would try to come inside it would get stuck and could barely fit through and then it would stay like that. I am definitely not pleased.

Took some of my cats longer to learn how to use it than others, so be patient. After having it for a while, I can't seem to get the lock out/lock in function to work any more. My cats just slam into it and get it open any way. LOL

Finally got around to installing. Looks nice but it ends there. The slide locks for this pet door are on both sides of the door. Unless your animal is really dumb they will figure out the simple slide locks and defeat this door in short order. I had to install a removable bar in front of the door to lock the pet door.
