Night one with my new blanket. I love it! So, apparently, does my cat who is still curled up on it. In chilly VT, I was warm all night with this blanket as one of my layers. As a test, I even took off the flannel sheets. It appears well made with a tight weave and tidy edging. It is light weight, yet very warm.For wool, it is soft and cozy. Other reviewers complain about it being scratchy. It’s wool. Of course it is. This happens to be less scratchy than many wool products. They also complained about the smell. It smells like, you guessed it, wool! Not chemicals, but wool which does smells bit strange if one is unfamiliar with it, but is natural.The only downside is the lack of size options. This would probably work best on a full or twin bed. It is narrow on my queen, but works for me since I don’t have to share (except for the previously mentioned cat). If I ever do, this will be too narrow. For that reason only, I took away one star. Overall, seems well worth the money.

My spouse wanted this for a Christmas gift. I am not big on wool, but he loves it. He frequently uses it when watching TV on wintery midwestern evenings. He says it’s the best blanket ever, regulating his body temp, so never too hot and always just perfect. As a spouse & non-user of this blanket I find the smell a bit off putting. It has faded a bit in the last 3 weeks, but there is still some lingering odor that I find unpleasant with this wool.

The promotional material for this product is impressive. It claims that Woolly Mammoth is committed to a superior woven craft, that this product is made of virgin merino wool, and the included card specifically states that “This blanket is not fire retardant”. The reason for this purchase was to have a fire blanket to catch embers that escape from the fireplace this Winter. The blanket reeks of something, like a mineral fuel, that isn’t present on any of the many pieces of merino wool clothing that I own. This blanket doesn’t smell like wool, yet. I’ve been airing it out for several days now. It will get aired out for a month. The promo card also states that a small amount of acrylic is added to the warp and weft for durability. These thick acrylic threads stick out of the weave of the wool every few inches. Seeing these long thick plastic threads stick out of the wool does not give one a sense of durability. The weave appears to be coming apart, newly out of the box. It is unattractive and does not feel like superior quality. Bottom line: pay a lower price for an army blanket or pay the extra cash to buy a Pendleton.

This is a gift for our son, the 80% merino wool is the important thing and I have not used the blanket, the weight of it 4# tells me it should be good though. The feel felt good and I hope it wears well with the blend of only 20% synthetics.

Blanket is soft and warm. It has a good weight to it. There is the usual wool texture but in a nice way and not irritating or itching at all. There is the odor everyone make a big fuss about but personally I don't find it intrusive. I fell asleep wrapped in it. Highly recommended to anyone needing a thick blanket for the cold weather.

This is a great blanket. I have not had it long, so I am hedging slightly on the durability, but so far I see no issues at all. It's warm, well knitted, and looks nice.The real bottom line: I'm buying a couple of more. These are that nice.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I had never bought a wool blanket before. It was suppose to be my couch throw... It ended up on my bed a few days later...Had to buy another one for the couch...High quality great price, Not scratchy. These blankets got me through the (nasty winter)...

Just received- it is a beautiful blanket- perfect weight. You do need to air it out for a day or so as it has a lanolin smell that I love but hubby does not. Can’t wait to use this cozy blanket during our winter camping trios
