If you think you have a “Brown Thumb,” get this book. If you have been gardening for years but your veggies and flowers aren’t as big and lush as you would like them to be, get this book. I have spent many years coaxing plants out of my terrible soil. This book is a great resource for beginners and intermediate gardeners. The author has a great sense of humor as well. My husband was perplexed on several occasions when I burst out laughing while reading about dirt.

I've been gardening a while now and came across this book. I figured I'd give it a read to see if there was something i hadn't heard of before. i was pleasantly surprised at how well it was written and thought out. And with humor nonetheless! I highly recommend this book for beginning gardeners. It's full of information you'll need to know.

I haven’t finished reading this book yet but I’ve learned a lot already. I am farming for an organization and I wanted to learn more about soil. When I explain just some of what I know, people look at me like I’m a genius. It’s an easy read and really to the point.

I bought this for some real soil science- this turned out more for people who have never messed with dirt ever. I did learn some useful things, but nothing about what tests to take and how to interpret results and how to treat the dirt from there. The ‘basic’ in the title should have warned me, but here i am.Otherwise, a good book? Just not what i was looking for.

This books I great for beginners and great for needing a fresher. I look forward ro teaching my son from it. Very pleasant and personal feel to the book. I was able to read it in less then 2 hours and understand great methods for getting started.

As someone who has almost zero knowledge of gardening, I found this book very helpful. I have to say that I would have definitely made some of the same mistakes that were mentioned in the book had I not read it first. I thought the book was very easy to comprehend and I am very happy I chose to purchase it. Do yourself a favor and give this book a read!!! Even if your not a beginner!

Well written and excellent advice.The last few years I've loved gardening, but now after reading this book I feel like I've acquired so much more knowledge and can't wait to experiment more with what I've learned.After all, it's easy. Anyone can do it!:-)🌱

I am only 3/4 through book and still reading, but I was surprised at how basic the book is. Maybe I am more informed than I thought on gardening - I find that I already knew most of what is presented. (There are a few things in the soil section that I found helpful.) It is an easy read and would be informative for those who have never gardened at all.

This is a great book! I have been wanting to grow my own vegetables but didn't know where or how to begin. This book really helped me to understand the need for starting a successful garden with healthy, vibrant soil and I appreciated the easy-to-follow instructions! Thank you Bruce! I'm going to keep this book as a great resource for each gardening season!

It covers the basics in a light hearted and easy to read manner. I have enjoyed reading this book. Recommended.

I loved the basics to this book.It was very easy to follow and is written so anyone can understand and follow along to it.There are many different tips and tricks mentioned within also. Lots I’ll be implementing into my own garden this season I think.Happy reading everyone. Enjoy

A really good little book on the subject and keeping it simple. Would recommend
