Decent ink at a decent price point.
Wanted to try some different ink colours without spending too much on them to just try it out. So ordered the 15ml bottle of Sky Blue color from The Great Indian Ink company (Made in India).Initially was not happy with the color as it felt kind of dry and light in color. Thought, here we have an Indian company trying to make a mark and so why not try it. Was disappointed to some extent. I have the habit of writing/scribbling on paper while learning anything. So this way managed to finish quite a few filings of this ink as I still need to finish the bottle. Can't just throw it away. But it was turning out to be quite a task as the ink was not flowing well in my Kakuno. I liked the color. But it used to feel very dry on paper while writing. I was just dragging it.Then I had also ordered Brinjal Purple from the same brand. This was good. Flow was nice in the same pen. The only thing that I had different this time was that I had shaken/stirred the ink bottle quite well before filling the ink in my Kakuno cartridge.I tried the same thing with the Sky Blue ink and filled my Kakuno cartridge again. And voila. It worked wonders. The flow is nice and juicy on print paper and Camlin notebook. So I ordered the 45ml bottle during the sale period. Got it for around 230 Rs. which is quite ok for a decent fountain pen ink for 45 ml. quantity. Note Waterman is around 400 (after discount and 500/- MRP) for 50ml.So, the lesson is not to forget to shake the bottle before filling in this ink for best results with this ink. I am including a writing sample for reference. Also, note that the water resistance property of this ink is pretty ordinary. Don't count on it for scenarios where the written paper might get wet. Hope this helps fellow buyers in making an informed decision.Happy writing.
