Really nice case, keyboard could use a bit better layout
I've had this case for a few days, and really like it.It does add some weight to the iPad. I love the iPad because it's so light, so this does change that, making both about 2 pounds. Which is the only think I don't like about it. But the rest is so nice I'll get used to it.I have a skin on mine, and it fits snuggly into the case. You have to push the case off the corners to get the iPad out, but it wasn't too hard. I'm very sure my iPad isn't going to be falling out of this case, as the fit is really nice. The hinge is pretty tight. It takes some work to open it up. So it's not going to be opening up in my purse, either. Both are good point for me.The hinge works well, and it stays open when in clam-shell mode and turns to the side easily. You can then swivel it toward the back and close it on top of the keyboard, so that you just have the iPad on the top and the keyboard hidden. It feels tough and solid, and once you have it set up like you want it, it's not going anywhere. I like the feel of it when reading, as I can hold it like a hardback, or put it on my table with the screen up to read while eating, or set it on a counter with a movie playing and see the screen. The keyboard is a bit small for me, which I expected because they all seem small when that size. I do find some of the keys have been moved and they're harder to find. They've taken the usual last row of keys on the right, ( the {}[]'"/?) keys and put them in the center of the H to L keys with a function button. I wouldn't usually notice it too much, but the apostrophe key is moved, and I find I need that key quite often. That's annoying because I have to stop and find it each time. They should have made the shift keys smaller to get that last row in. But the keys themselves feel solid and are raised, which I find easier to work with.As a keyboard, not quite the layout I'd like, but as a case, so far this has been a great purchase. So, on waffling about the moved keys and star rating, I'm still going to give this one a 5 star, since I won't be typing on it all that much.

Convenient and Practical but a tad bit heavy...
This keyboard is amazing. It took my iPad mini and made it into a mini laptop. I've had so many people stop and ask questions and give it compliments that I decided to write up a review too.First and foremost, I needed a keyboard that could be used in english and spanish. Meaning I needed specialized symbols to be readily available on the actual keyboard... things like "ñ" you know... I was not going to be constantly editing on the screen keyboard after I typed every single report, letter, email, etc... So i had highly hoped this keyboard would allow for that and IT DID!! Let it be known that I am still getting to know the keyboard and have to stop and think about where that symbol is located on the keyboard because it is not printed on the actual keys. So a bit of memorizing is in order for you bilinguals out there. But, I don't mind and you get use to it pretty fast. Also, I needed a fully covered case for the actual iPad. That thing is my baby and I cannot afford to have it scratched, cracked and doomed to die. This case not only provides protection for the iPad but its incredibly durable.HOWEVER, the fact that the case is very thick and durable does mean that it is a pretty weighty little thing..... but the way I see it is that most laptops weigh about the same or more anyways. So for me, this is not even an issue.I stick it in my purse and keep walking. I can work wherever I go and if I don't want to use the keyboard all I have to do is turn the screen and flip it over the keyboard and bye-bye keyboard!!I've already highly recommended it to many friends who could use one and they're all pretty impressed with the way it works. Wouldn't be surprised if several if not all of them ended up with it.My only suggestion to the makers is, if you can maintain durability, make the back casing seethrough (to show off the apple of course) and make it just a little bit lighter.... I would say TAKE MY MONEY!!

Would buy iPhone 7 Plus version if available
I wanted to buy a cheap but durable keyboard for my iPad Mini 2, and after reading several reviews and looking through competitor brands, I decided to buy this particular model. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far I find it to be a great purchase and well worth the money I spent on it.One of my favorite features about this case is the fact that it is rotatable, making it easy to keyboard out of the way whenever I don't need or want to use it. The case is heavier than expected. It is also top heavy, meaning the ipad and case will tip over backwards at times. On the plus side, it's still much smaller and easier to carry around than a standard sized laptop. The keyboard itself is fast, responsive, and more comfortable to type on than the on screen landscape keyboard. However, it takes a bit of time to get used to due to the smaller keys and a few unusual keystrokes (e.g. FN+I for ?). A few of the keys seem to be a bit useless half the time. However, after buy a competitor's keyboard and testing it out, I've concluded that this is primarily due to iOS and app limitations. It also does not come with a mouse. You'll have to buy one separately. It is also has a few other limitations, including a lack of brightness control function. At less than $50 though, I say it's a great buy. I believe it may also be the perfect compromise if you're on a budget and can't afford both an iPad and a laptop. In fact, I'm thinking of doing that in the future once my iPad and laptop become obsolete or stop functioning. It would definitely be cheaper than buying both.My biggest disappointment about this product if the fast that there isn't something similar available for the iPhone. I would definitely purchase an iPhone 7 plus version of the this keyboard if it existed. In conclusion, great product and would definitely recommend buying it.
