This NLT Bible is highly rated by Bible scholars. It has 10 pt font, which is why it is so thick. That is large print for a compact Bible--most have 6. The pages are thin--if they were thicker the Bible would be too heavy and too thick. The pages will not tear if you read carefully and only use a soft pencil bible marker--not a gell marker. A red or blue pencil bible will not bleed thru or tear the pages. I really like mine.I have read and marked thu Exodus now and have no torn pages or do I expect to. It is a pretty looking and good Bible. Small enough to carry anywhere.

This was a gift and she loves the feel and the larger print.

I have several bibles and I read daily. This is the one I gravitate to most. It’s about the size of a paperback novel so very easy to hold. I can throw it in my purse, so use when traveling. And large print is helpful since it’s on the small size

This Bible is perfect. My favorite translation NLT. Compact size to carry and read (not study Bible size) the 10 point font is perfect for old eyes to read and not squint.All in all for a nice just text Bible the NLT compact is perfect.
