Fun and giftable
The presentation and design of this book is great, and makes a good gift to someone who loves whiskey, or just to keep around for yourself since it really is a nice book. There's lots of images and designs but the information is not only quite informative but also well presented and organized. Thus it would definitely make a great gift at the very least, and is worth buying as a keeper for myself simply because it's interesting.

Great for whiskey enthusiasts!
This is a very nice looking book with great content inside as well! There are lots of great tid bits of information throughout the book and is broken down into:-Brunch-Appetizers & Snacks-Sides, Sauces, & Dressings-Entrees-DessertsThere are great pictures throughout the book with lots of great recipes as well! There are so many recipes that I will be trying over time. Quite a few of these recipes come as a courtesy of different distilleries so of course the recipes tend to call for that distillery's whiskey. I won't be buying all the different whiskeys to try the recipes and will just use what I have (bourbon, scotch, etc) that is called for and I'm sure that will work just fine! Some recipes just call for whiskey as part of the recipe and some have suggestions for pairings to go with the food.Overall, this is a great book and works well as a nice gift for your whiskey lover. It looks really nice and is set up on one of our console tables as part of the decor when not in use!

Inspiring, lots of delicious drink and food recipes, lots of beautiful color photos
Ahhhh, whiskey... one of my favorites. When I drink, I almost always choose whiskey or bourbon. When I saw this cookbook, I had to have it! Any recipe that pairs well or includes whiskey is right up my alley! :)There is a wide variety of delicious recipes in this book - eggs, pork chops, fish, chili, brownies, soup and lots more! The recipes are divided into 5 sections:~Brunch,~Appetizers & snacks~Sides, sauces & dressings~Entrees~DessertsNot all of the recipes actually include whiskey. Some are only paired with whiskey so just keep that in mind. Some of the recipes are easy to follow while others are quite unique and somewhat extravagant. For that reason, this cookbook might not appeal to everyone. If you are more of a gourmet chef and appreciate trying complex recipes with ingredients that you don't always keep on hand, I would recommend it.Lots of big, delicious photos throughout the cookbook, too. (which is always my favorite part of ANY cookbook!!!!) I have seen cookbooks with hand drawn illustrations or without any pictures at all and I'm like whaaaaat?? Seeing the finished product is what makes me want to try the recipe in the first place!Specific brands of whiskey are used in these recipes. There are several distilleries referenced in the book which is where the brands come in. Of course, you can use whatever brand you like, just something to note.So far, I have tried the Bourbon Smokies and the Irish Whiskey Glazed Ribs. They all turned out well and were super delicious!

Giftable and Delicious
Really nice hardcover book, looks great sitting out on a bar cart or coffee table. Looks of good whiskey inspired food recipes. Fun to sit down and read through as well as trying new recipes from it. High quality prints, fun to flip through.

Beautiful Book, Difficult to Navigate
First off, The Whiskey Cookbook is a very beautiful book--great photos, embossed cover, brown tinted pages. Sitting on a coffee table or a bar, it looks fantastic. But I feel that this is book that trying to be several things. There is a guide to small batch distilleries spread through out the book. The distilleries (all American unless I missed some) are given pithy discussions and then their whiskeys are referenced for use in the recipes. I like the profiles and they directed me to some small batch distilleries of which I was not aware. That is all nice, but I wanted a whiskey cookbook. The recipes are divided into five sections--brunch, appetizers/snacks, sides/sauces/dressings, entrees, and desserts. Not all the recipes use whiskey, some are paired with a whiskey from one of the featured distilleries. The recipes run the gamut from simple and made with easily acquired ingredients to rather complex with some rather hard to come by items suggested (21 day aged Peking Duck from Sonoma County Liberty Ducks). Not that this is bad, you just might wonder who this book is aimed at. The recipes are clear to follow, though some may challenge a not so experienced cook (again, not bad). The recipes come from the distilleries and various chefs (which might account for the wide range). Navigating the book can be difficult as there is no list of the recipes, you have to hunt for them in the index. I would like to have seen the recipes listed in the table of contents or on the first pages of each section. I would have liked to seen other usable whiskeys listed as alternatives to the featured ones. I checked the prices of some of the whiskeys, and frankly, at the prices I would rather drink them than use them in cooking. Ultimately I believe this to be a book for connoisseurs rather than the average whiskey enjoyer. I also think this book will sell primarily at the featured distilleries, finding out the content from online is difficult without a detailed table of contents. Again, a beautiful book with useful information on small batch whiskeys, but not so easy as a cookbook.

Nice gift for a Whiskey lover
We bought this for a friend who is obsessed with Whiskey. His wife enjoys cooking as well, so the combination of him being able to record his different whiskeys and take notes, etc, and the recipe options- it was a hit!Definitely recommend to use as a gift along with a nice bottle of whiskey or scotch. Good quality book and nice layout.
