Good, does definitely blow a lot of air!
The fan was very easy to put together. It's a great fan if you want something simple, not too bulky, and has really decent airflow. People mentioning it being not the quietest, that's not true. It's pretty quiet for a 16" fan. My only gripe is some of the parts can be wobby if not put together right, and they can need some screwing into (like the base at the bottom), and the part of the fan that attaches to the pole. That can be a bit wobbly. But looking back at my other fans in the same price range from 10 years ago, that's pretty wobbly too. Can't complain too much for 35 dollars. The best feature.. ? The remote! I've never had a remote for a fan, and I absolutely love being able to turn it off at night when I get too cold. Which almost always happens. Quick delivery from Amazon, and arrived in non-amazon packaging. It was packed very neatly and secure.

Great, Versatile Fan
Ordered this fan in the spring when the weather was just starting to get warm. It might be the single best thing I have bought from Amazon in a long time. And that's saying something! Relatively easy to assemble. Took 15 or 20 minutes of easy, semi-mindless assembly. Worked great from the beginning. I can't remember, but you might need to buy batteries for the remote. Amazon has great prices on their brand name batteries, and they are very high quality, so you might want to order those with the fan if you don't already have some around. I think they are AAA. I keep it in my bedroom to supplement my window A/C unit. My A/C is not super strong, but with this fan I am seriously chilly at times. I also point it out towards the rest of the apartment periodically, and between the fan and the bedroom A/C it keeps the whole place nice and cool. I don't need to turn on any of the other A/C units. When I'm in the kitchen cooking, I point it from the bedroom towards the kitchen in a fixed position and it keeps me cool while baking and cooking. At night when I'm sleeping, I put in on oscillate and it keeps me cool throughout the night. I also find that I breathe easier when sleeping because the fan is moving the air around in the room . (BTW, there are studies on the importance of good airflow in a bedroom when sleeping--it really makes a big difference.) Again, it's supplementing the A/C, but it's making a big impact--in terms of temperature, I'd say the room feels a good 5 to 10 degrees cooler when I'm sleeping with the fan on. Keep an eye on Warehouse Deals if you want a better price. But it's worth every penny of whatever you end up paying. One last comment....I didn't think I would ever use the remote, because the remote doesn't allow you to switch from oscillation to the fixed position. But it turns out that I use the remote all the time--several times a day I would say. I turn the fan on and off with the remote, and use it to control the fan speed--from low, to medium to high. While I do have to switch between fixed and oscillation manually, I can do everything else via the remote. I like that! Highly recommended!

Lasts pretty long! Back screen is plastic.
I had one of these fans for about ten years, it’s wonderful! However, the reason I’m reordering is the front screen is metal, the rear screen is plastic, I went to reposition it and it fell apart in my hands! The plastic dries out and crumbled!

Budget friendly yet high quality fan.
Love these fan so much. It has three speed options and a timer too. The airflow is just enough to cool the room. It does not make so much noise especially when set to the maximum speed. It’s also very functional and convenient to use because it comes with a remote control. Great buy indeed. Great job black and decker.

Not Quiet, Otherwise Nice
I like the features. As expected, the remote is simple and works just fine. The blue power light some people don’t like doesn’t bother me at all — but then I sleep with a nightlight so not sensitive to it. I almost gave it 3 stars because this is a loud fan on the low setting. The fan it replaced broke after 7 or 8 years. I could barely hear that one on the low setting. ** EDIT ** Big Problem with the protective cover for the fan blades. The front half, which is removable, is made of metal, which fine. However, the rear half behind the blades which is attached to the fan is a VERY brittle plastic. I wouldn’t care that it is plastic per se, because we all know there are lots of durable plastic in use today. One would expect this to be manufactured with a somewhat flexible, durable plastic that has a bit of give to it. Again, this is brittle AND weak. There’s a lip on the backside that I used to lift this lightweight fan if I needed to move it a few inches. My Holmes fan that lasted many years had this feature. However, I found if I did this, little pieces of the cover would break off, literally like dried twigs. Last night, I move a piece of furniture and a leg caught the extension cord, tipping the fan over on the pile carpet floor. The metal front of the protective cover hit the carpet and was fine. However, the plastic back protective cover shattered into a few hundred pieces. I picked up a couple of surviving longer sections and was able to break off pieces with almost no force exerted by my thumb and forefinger. There’s a Black+Decker service center a few miles from me so I’ll see if that cover is available or not. The fan has had overall modest use for 27 months. Disappointing.

Nice fan, I might even buy another!
I'd been meaning to get an oscillating fan for my bedroom for awhile. I don't regret my purchase. My bedeoom is kinda small, 15x12 and the 16" fan set on low pushes air very well. The white noise is nice. the higher the speed the louder it is but that's the nature of fans. The remote doesn't come with batteries so have 2 AAAs on hand. The timer is nice too. As far as assembly, it may appear that you're short one pole(the extention post, chrome in color). TIP: you're not short! its slid down into one of the other poles and it's easy to slide out once you've located it. That was my only hiccup during assembly. Love the fan.
