Got so many recommendations from other artists! Finally got mine. It’s good for reference researching or just for coffee book reading. It comprises different types of patterns from various countries and cultures.

A lovely book, well researched. While previous commenters were unhappy with the layout of this book, I was not as the book is meant to be a sourcebook/sampler. Each pattern is accompanied by excellent historical information that a reader can use to further explore the pattern, the maker, or the historical time period of the source. A great book, and a great treat for fans of the V&A!

An excellent book that has been a wealth of inspiration in my design work. Such a wide variety of themes are covered through the photos in the book, from animals, trees, flowers, geometric, and the images are very clear.

This is a great book for pattern and design students. I bought it as part of my Surface Pattern & Textile Design course. It is full of historical pattern designs.
