excellent product
This is the second Harris bipod I've purchased. They are engineered to perfection and have no defects. They provide a steady rest for accurate shooting. I thought I would try the LM version this time. It's spring loaded to push the leg extensions out when released. This model also has several notches in the legs so when you determine your specific height, you can go back to it easily every time. The L model allowes infinite adjustments, the LM provides notches for repetitive setups. Either one is a winner. I picked the 9-13 inch in both models to provide a good rest on the bench or lying down. It's the optimum height for my shooting. I was told Harris was the best and it was good advice. Shipping was prompt as always.Update: 23 Dec 12 I've purchased another one for my Remington 700 BDL in .270. I got tired of switching to different rifles. I don't think you can find a more reliable, steady, or convenient setup for shooting. No time consuming set up of a gun rest at the range or carrying sand bags. There's nothing else to carry, it all fits in the gun case. Just flip the legs down and your ready to shoot. Whether it's on a bench or prone on the ground. If you have the rifle and optics, you can make a 500 yard shot with ease.

Some times, simple is best.
Using this on an NRL Hunter open light class match rifle. Mauser 98 in a custom laminate wood stock with composite steel and resin skeleton inside in place of a chassis.I used to use a Magpul bipod. I really do like the Magpul, but it's got a little more wobble too it than I prefer for a high-precision match gun. Switching to this bipod brought my vertical dispersion shooting from a bench down from ~7/8 minute of angle to about ~3/8 at 100 yards. I still have work to do on horizontal dispersion but I figure that has more to do with the nut connecting the rifle to the seat. This is an extremely light and intuitive setup. It has no tilt, no pan, no 45 degree lock, no buttons to fold the legs. It is rugged, it is as sturdy and as stable as they come. The Magpul is better suited to my semiauto anyway. This is better for extreme stability.

Excellent bipod
I tried multiple bipods before settling on this one and I can tell you that this will be the last bipod I buy for my AR-15. This is a VERY solid bipod that doesn't flex or lean at all when you are shooting and it stays folded tightly when collapsed. The leg extensions are really great, as they have height adjustment notches that make it easy to set up quickly.NOTE: You will need a Harris picatinny adapter if you are attaching this bipod to your AR-15 tactical rails. I bought the Harris Bipod Adaptor 1913 picitinny Mount Weaver compatible and it works extremely well and keeps the bipod completely secure and stable.

Wow, this is a very well made product!!
Installs with no tools in about 30 seconds. Basically attaches to the rifle stud holes in a vice-like fashion with notches that fit into the holes for additional contact support. This is operated by a metal thumb screw. Easy enough to own one and use with several different rifles and/or use the same stand for multiple rifles at the range. The legs for the 9-13" bipod have 6 positions (locks into place with an audible 'click') which I assume are 1 inch segments. The legs can be adjusted with one hand by pressing thumb shaped buttons on the legs. This can be done without getting up from the bench or compromising any body parts to the muzzle. The legs are raised independently of each other with two very strong springs, one on each leg. (Duh... I know, but I'm just trying to give you a good mental picture). Once they are up they stay up and don't jiggle-jangle around when you are shooting off-hand. The springs seem pretty heavy duty and my first and lasting impression of them is to be very conscious of where my fingers are when putting the bipod legs up so they don't get chomped. There is a stud at the front of the bipod for a strap which replaces the stud on your rifle that the bipod attaches too. Overall I am very please with this product and the fit and finish is outstanding.* There are several adapters available if you have no rifle stud or some other configuration. Check on their site for part numbers.** Oh, and get the swivel version so you can discreetly swivel over a couple of degrees and check your buddy's target to make sure he isn't shooting better than you! :-P

Great Bipod
This is a great bipod! It is very solid. The spring-loaded legs extend quick with with the push of a button. You have to hold the button down and push each leg back up to retract them. It is quick into action, but a little slower putting them away. This is the Ultralight model which works very well at keeping your carbine light. The notched legs are a good addition to easily set the BiPod at the right height every time. When connected with a 'RotaPod' it is a very nice setup for hunting varmint. This paired with the Harris RotaPod is roughly 1lb. I would say.

Awesome product
Oh yea one of the best bi pods you can get. The engineering behind this thing is amazing. I originally bought the fixed base but returned it and bot the swivel. Both are great products I just like the option of the swivel for uneven ground. The legs are sturdy and have a tight lock when you adjust the length. Nothing wiggles when you are out in the field using it. The springs have a tight solid tension on it but aren't too hard to deploy, not to mention it looks good on my Scar 16s. I paired it with the Gg&G harris bipod adapter and it is a perfect fit. Be careful with the adapter because you can cross thread and strip it easily. All of my guns will be getting Harris bi pods from now on.
