JY-03 Model is amazing. Going strong for 2 years
Pros: 1. Cleans the surface in 5 mins. Make sure to use without the black nozzle and oxygen pipe. 2. Provides 24x7 oxygen even without using the oxygen attachment due the agitation caused by the water falling into the skimmer. So you don't need a separate aerator unit in the tank. 3. Placing it above a CO2 diffuser will make bubbles hitting the surface get sucked in and get recirculated in the tank. Saves CO2 wastage. 4. Working without any issues for ~2 years. 5. Easy to detach from the bottom to clean the impeller. Clean the impeller 2-3 times a year. Lubricate the impeller with Vaseline twice a year. 6. Can easily handle 1-1.5 inch of evaporation. Has high vertical range to compensate for water level fluctuation. But have to find the right fixing location where the float has enough space adjust itself. Too much space with cause the float to fall out and the fish will get sucked in. Too little space will risk the motor burning if the water level drops below the minimum intake level due to evaporation. Cons: 1. Attaching the provided black nozzle greatly reduces skimming strength. Always run it without the nozzle. 2. Need to turn off while feeding else it will suck in all the floating food. But this is an issue with all surface skimmers. Have to turn it on about 30 mins after feeding to be safe. 3. Motor can burn if water level drops below the float's bottom. Need to make sure water is refilled regularly to compensate for evaporation. Conclusion: Best surface skimmer in the market.

Good biofilm surface skimmer
Good as a surface skimmer. But sometimes the oxygen flow is too much despite regulation so it stresses the fish out. Best to remove biofilm without attaching oxygen pipe.

Poorly made product that does not serve its purpose
Doesn't work very well, the motor is pretty weak, and it doesn't do a good job of cleaning from the surface, the sponge inside it is of substandard quality, the only thing that works is the air pump attachment, and if I wanted that I would've just bought an air pump. It's priced low because it doesn't work.
