We bought the laptop through my account but my husband wrote the following review, as well as the updates on the top:UPDATE: Never mind the touchpad. Something far more serious happened, which is why I lowered my rating from 5 stars to 1. Last month, the laptop crashed and would not reboot. I sent the laptop to HP for a free repair since my PC was still under warranty. Instead of fixing the laptop, HP voided my warranty. They said that they don't support the 1TB SSD card I chose when I ordered the laptop. This means that the seller let me choose an unsupported configuration. HP offered to fix it -- for over $400. I hope the seller reviews the options they offer and removes the unsupported ones. Until it does, double-check that the components you choose are supported before you buy.UPDATE: Restarting the touchpad driver fixed the touchpad and it's worked ever since, so this probably wasn't a hardware problem. I raised the rating to 5 stars from 2.ORIGINAL: We received the laptop 9 days ago. Today, the touchpad stopped wo rking. Luckily, the laptop recognized our USB mouse. We don't know if this is a hardware problem because now and then the touchpad works, but only rarely and briefly. We've tried to fix the problem by* restarting the PC,* updating all drivers,* running Windows Update,* temporarily disabling our Norton protection, then restarting the PC (We replaced the McAfee that HP installed with Norton.), and* turning the touchpad off and then on again from Windows Settings.None of this helped.We'll be glad to delete this review or raise the rating if the vendor can fix this or replace the laptop.

When I received my HP laptop it was packaged securely and upon opening the box that beautiful blue was gorgeous!! Setup was a breeze and the computer was working GREAT!! I'm satisfied with my purchase and I'll be using this HP laptop for a long time!!

This HP laptop w Windows 11 was recommended by a Karl's Technology contractor as a replacement for a failing 6yo Toshiba Satellite. Everything about the new computer is perfectly adequate, but after the nice finishes, thoughtful details & upgrades of the Toshiba, this is a big step down in quality. My own fault for being in a rush & not doing my own research. The HP has only 2 USB ports - I need 4, so now there's a hub to deal with. There was no media software installed, so there's a quirky app to hassle with. And instead of backlit metal keys shaped for finger pads, there's flat, painted plastic. I'll use it for a few yrs, & I'm sure it will be ok, but I already look forward to a better quality machine when this starts to wear. And from the plastic feel of it, it won't be long.

This computer because having multiple Blue screen errors within 2 months of purchase. Working with HP tech support, we tried to restore windows with a recovery thumb drive they sent to me. The recovery process would not complete because of the blue screen errors interrupting the windows reinstall. The next step was to send the computer in to HP to make sure there was no hardware failure. I received and email saying that I would have to pay $410 to fix the computer because there was a non-HP SSD installed in it. I did not install anything on this computer.

Keyboard is very flimsy and not laid out to the way I am used to.The screen is too bright and difficult to get the right contrast
