Decking stair treads
I have seen this stuff used on teak decks on boats. I wanted something original and functional for my ip'e deck stairs. All hard woods and composites can be slippery when wet. Traditional stair tread traction devices are bulky and in some cases can actually make you trip. Routered in the bottom side of my decking were grooves to keep the hard wood from twisting and warping. They also were perfect for filling with this caulking and adding a stylish note to safety. In practice this works and looks great. If it can survive the riggers of boating weather it certainly can last a long time on the backyard deck. Just mask off the grooves fill and let cure. Remove and install.

Good caulk. Stains white gelcoat.
Good caulk. Stains white gel coat. Expect a good polishing will remove it. USE REAL MINERAL SPIRITS for clean-up solvent, not "mineral spirits substitute".

Better then 3M
Great marine sealant adhesive. Better then 3M. Stayed rubbery but not sticky. Just make sure you read the description for use of each type of sikaflex and pick the right one.

Not a primerless sealant
This is not a primerless sealant. But they don't tell you that on the package. The instructions make no mention of a primer and the package actually says "Bonds and seals in one step." (FALSE). You have to go to Sika's website and the product PDF discusses the primers. (which cost over $100 and are very messy to use)I didn't know to use the primer and it started leaking right away. I later read some boater reviews where they said it leaks if you don't use the primer. This is a lot of trouble considering Dow Corning 795 is a primerless adhesive window sealant. See also the marine installer review from May 3 2021.Also I wouldn't recommend the 3oz tube because it was nearly impossible to squeeze the sealant out. Took tons of hand pressure and sealant came out very slowly, even with a large hole cut in nozzle.
