Jumps around a bit, but lots of great info and archival material.
I especially love all of the photographic plates and archival material related to this favorite vintage sewing machine. I was hoping there might be some more technical material than there is, maybe some details about the Singer 201's development and engineering, etc. but what is here is entertaining and informative. The book is more a gushing love letter to this wonderful machine than a history or explanation of it.

Very Informative
I've restored and repaired dozens of Singer 201s over the years and, being a historian academically, thought I knew most everything there was about the model. However, this book is very well researched, insightful and well written by a life long mechanic and historian of the trade. I learned a lot about the models development than I previously knew and found many of the sidebar musings very delightful. I personally think this is the best of the series by the writer.

Very informative!
I purchased this to help me refurbish a new to me singer 201. I found I enjoyed his writing style and It is very informative and interesting to learn about the history of this beautiful machine. There are some enjoyable antidotes and some very useful information to use while rehabing my sewing machine.

GREAT INFORMATIVE BOOK!
This book tells you everything about the 201! I had no idea of the history of Singer Sewing Machine Company & the work they did for WW2! I could not put the book down. Well written! Thank you Alex!

Sir, Dream it shares his love of Vintage Machines
For the newbie to the world of the vintage machine, this is a nice' short review of what is arguably Singer's greatest Sewing marvel. Lucky enough to have two!
