Q: Just received mine in the mail, charged it over night & it's not turning on. It lights up when it's plugged in charging tho. Am I doin somethin wrong?

Mine lights up when it's charging(red)and when it's fully charged, it turns to green...usually doesn't take much time to fully charge. Sound like you may have a bad one? I have had trouble sometimes getting the actual charging plug into the unit, but it's always taken a charge and has always worked fine for me.

Q: How long does a full charge last?

Most people only have to re-charge every 2-3 weeks or so.

Q: Do I turn it off to charge?

Yes. Turn it off to charge. When properly connected and charging there is a small red light on the side indicating that it is charging.

Q: How wide is the collar space on the back. Will it take a 1 inch wide collar?

It might, but I think 1 inch might be too wide if it's a thicker collar meaning the material itself. The wire clip needs to snap shut and a thick material like a heave nylon, it won't clip and could fall off. The lock ring is good and easy to put on. If it's a long haired dog I would recommend hanging it from the D ring so it dangles.much more visible.
