I Feel Happy (Little Learners) (Little Learners Slide and See) Board book – March 1, 2012

It is very difficult to get our 10 1/2 month old to sit still long enough to read a book but she loves these little learner books because they are interactive. The message in the books are great, the illustrations are adorable, and we love that older babies can pull out extra messages on each page. This is one of the best board books we have purchased. There is another one called "I Can Share" which we also love.

Our little guy loves books with moveable parts and these tabs are durable even to stand up to wear so far.

As a parent you will fall in love with the words and illustrations -- cute animals expressing common feelings like Shyness, Pride, Happiness, Hunger, and more "i feel proud when i help mommy" ( a baby turtle helping his mom go up a hill!), and "I feel sad when Grandma leaves" (a family of cats waving bye bye!).The pullout tabs on this board book are interactive and show additional emotions -- however, my 10 month old ripped out the tabs completely and now i need to glue them back in. Not the best construction quality.Despite this, a really adorable book about basic feelings. Best for older toddlers who know how to gently handle certain items.

I am not a fan of this book. It's a cute idea, but my husband and I put this book away once we read through it. "I feel grumpy when something is hard to do"? I don't want my child associating negative feelings with something that is challenging. If that was the only one, we might have just skipped the page, but there were enough other messages we didn't like that we just put it away. Our son found it before we could donate it, and he definitely likes pulling out the extra pages, but he won't be hearing the words from us.

This was a fun book with great illustrations that all young children can enjoy. One of the best parts about this book is that the pages are durable and the words are large so as your child grows that can learn not only the words on the page but also about the emotions that are being expressed in the book and with the images that show the emotions, it helps the parent and child talk one-on-one about these emotions in a way that the child can understand. A Great book that I would highly recommend!

Very cute book. The pull out pages are a big hit with my 2 year old. She identifies the mom/dad and also which animal is on each page. She did learn a few new words like 'full'. She sometimes says 'sad' when she's sad. Being able to communicate better can reduce the craziness of being a two-year old I guess and these types of books help with that.
