Brilliant
So I purchased this after buying the Seagate usb hard drive. I bought it originally thinking it would allow me to store huge games (Black ops 6 and hogwarts legacy) and play them without taking up all my internal storage. Unfortunately when I purchased the usb hard drive, It did not allow me to run X and Series S games. I then did some more research and stumbled upon this expansion card. I’m annoyed now because I should have just skipped the hard dive and bought this one first. I am now able to store massive games like black ops 6 on to the expansion card, and play them through that, and still having over 50% storage on my internal. What that means for me is now I can have all the games I want downloaded and ready to play without moving anything around and having to delete games for cods massive updates. The price point is expensive, but for what it is, it is absolutely worth the money. If you’re like me and have multiple games on your Xbox or PlayStation, and get annoyed having to delete games or move things around for updates or new games, it’s worth it. I game a lot with my friends and solo, so I think if you’re an avid gamer, it is perfect. I plugged it in at the back and it started up instantly. Moved cod over first and now I have so much more storage, I’m now re installing everything I lost because of cod’s big updates. And room for new games I want to play too! You won’t regret this purchase if you’re gaming a lot.

Reliable and Seamless Storage Expansion for Xbox Series X|S – Excellent Performance
I’ve been using the Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S (2TB) for two years, and it has been a fantastic addition to my setup. The plug-and-play functionality is seamless—installation is as simple as inserting it into the designated slot, and the Xbox recognises it instantly. It integrates perfectly, offering the same lightning-fast load times as the internal SSD and effortlessly handling all Series X|S titles. The 2TB of added storage has saved me from constantly juggling space, letting me keep a large library of games ready to play. The sleek, compact design fits snugly into the back of the console without adding clutter, and the build quality feels solid and durable. It’s completely silent, with no noise or excess heat even after long gaming sessions. Brought it in 2023 and it still performs flawlessly, with no issues of data loss or performance dips. While it’s a significant investment, the convenience, reliability, and performance make it absolutely worth it for serious gamers looking to expand their storage.

VERY fast, VERY easy to use. ONLY downside is the cost.
The Seagate Expansion Card is a brilliant product with the ONLY downside being the cost. The Xbox Series X is a superb console but with a weak point. It only comes with about 800Mb of usable internal storage. In the past that would be plenty but with modern games often needing over 100Gb, you can easily find yourself running out of space. Now add into the mix a family that all like to play different types games and a xbox Game Pass or Ultimate (which we have) and the situation soon becomes desperate. The only way around the problem (short of deleteing games along with open familily warfare) is to go for additional storage. That just leaves the question of which storage to go for..... Low cost - buy an external 2TB HDD and plan WAY in advance which games you want to run off the internal memory. Also get used to moving games between the internal and external storage and for that to take ages and ages and ages. If running from the external storage then some games can have reduced features. Somewhat Expensive - buy an external 2TB SSD and plan in little bit in advance which games you want to run off the internal memory. You will still have to move games between the internal and external but at least you dont need a calander to know when it should be ready. If running from the external storage then some games can have reduced features. Expensive or Very Expensive - buy A Seagate 1TB or 2TB Expansion card, stick it in and carry on as normal. As the Xbox only has a ONE expansion slot I chose the 2TB card over the 1TB. The reason being is that its size gives us plenty of storage to seamlessly save, load and play all the families games without having to shuffles which ones are stored where.

Small and mighty
Okay, I’m going to mention the elephant in the room and say that this is an expensive investment, and SSD’s are in fact quite expensive to begin with, however I’ve got to commend the design team on just how small and portable this SSD is. It’s extremely simple to use, you simply insert it into the expansion slot at the back of your Series X or S and it does the rest for you, if there’s no space on your consoles internal SSD then it’ll automatically install to the portable expansion card. The counter argument to why it’s expensive is because it uses the same architecture inside of the Series X, so games will play and feel as if your playing them from the internal SSD itself. There’s no compromise whatsoever, to quote Bethesda, it just works! I feel in this day and age games are so big these days that it’s almost a given that you’ll need to shell out for extra storage. Of course you can run older back compat games from your already current external hard drive but the caveat there is that you won’t be able to play any of the Series X or S optimised games from that hard drive, you’ll either need to have them installed via internal SSD or the storage expansion card. So to summarise, I think it’s a brilliant piece of tech and it’s definitely essential I’d say if you’re a serious gamer, it does almost cost as much as the Series S and nearly half that of the Series X but it’s just convenience and doubles your storage in the process. You could argue that Microsoft could have expanded the internal storage but same issue, the consoles price itself would increase. While it’s not essential for the casual gamer that maybe only goes between a few games every couple of weeks, I’d say it’s a great purchase if you have the money to spare and if you game quite a lot!
