I ordered about 250 square feet of these to put on the ceiling in our home theater. They were easy to install and look fantastic. I put them right on the raw drywall. This saved time and money since I didn't have to mud, tape, sand, prime, texture, and paint again the ceiling. They were easy to install and cut to size, even cutting holes for pot lights, vents, etc. Only used a straightedge and an x-acto knife. When placing them overhead, be sure to use safety glasses as there are small particles that fall when handling.Performance wise, I can't comment on the sound transmission, but I believe these panels reduce the reflections, standing waves, and overall boominess/echo in the room. They're a perfect matte black to avoid light scatter and reflections as well.They've been installed for 7 months, and nothing has fallen off or moved. Out of the 250 panels we purchased, maybe 1 had to be tossed from damage. The packaging may deform the corners of the top panel, but it will return to shape once installed. Color-wise, they are all the same black - there was no variation in color. The only issue is that they are not 12x12in. They are closer to 11.5x11.5in.

I bought these to use in the master area of our camper to help with noise while we sleep. They are awesome! Easy to install, stayed in place, and thick!Looks great - giving the walls dimension and style.

I'm using these for a classroom, and so far they are easy to deal with (the installation isn't complete) and already, just leaning on the walls, I've noticed a difference in the quality and level of noise. The foam squares are vacuum compressed, so expect to separate them and let sit a few days to fully expand. The peel off paper reveals a full side of sticky contact, which gets stronger with a few days time, so we were able to reposition if done before it really sets. NOTE: though I haven't had this happen, I have used similar products before and it can RUIN a wall if applied directly to the surface - small chunks of foam remain glued on, and getting them off can really be a pain. We're using thin 2'x4' particle board panels to attach the foam to, and mounting those with screws. Still very easy to install, but now removable!
