In the most recent package I received (2019) there WAS a heel of sorts. It looked like the tube socks were placed on a form and ironed smooth in a profile of a sock with a heel. I am sorry that I can't think of a clearer way to describe it. The "foot" part was for a large foot, but the leg part was not for long legs. I originally bought the knee highs in a size 2 because I have long legs. The old style was great. However, I am very disappointed with the new style.
