Have been ordering this product and brand for a few years. Product always in good condition. As well as the quality of the product. I just soak in acv and cook as I wish.

Opened the first can and made a dish from a recipe I found on the internet. It was fine except the jackfruit was too salty even after rinsing it.

This is a review of Native Forest Organic Young Jackfruit As a caterer, you quickly understand that most folks have different tastes, and to be successful you need to be a bit creative. You would not believe some of the requests we get. But one of the biggest divides is: People who eat meat, and those that do not. What is even more fun is when they request for an event without meat… But they want it to taste like meat. And, that is where Jackfruit come into the picture. Simply stated, Jackfruits (odd name) sole purpose in life is to take on the flavors of the spices you add to it, and make it taste like a protein (beef, pork; even chicken). It accomplishes this feat by having the bite and mouthfeel of real meat… For example, cook some up with your favorite BBQ sauce, stick it on a bun, and there you go. My research led me to several brands until I settled on this one. What You Get Six 14-ounce (400g) cans of jackfruit, with a convenient pull-top lid… no can opener required. My six came well packaged with not a dent or leak in the lot. I consider the fruit in the cans of excellent quality and have used it to dish up some wonderful faux meat recipes. Note: Jackfruit comes packaged different ways. If you goal is to use this product to create faux meat dishes, then it should be young jackfruit, and come packed in filtered water with a pinch of sea salt, and possibly a dash of lime juice. And, being organic is a good thing. This product fits all those requirements. This is not a cooking class; just a product review (there are plenty of jackfruit recipes on the internet for you to peruse). But when I use this product to make things like pulled pork or beef, most of my clients cannot tell the difference from the real thing. Let me end by showing you two photos of what a finished jackfruit recipe looks like. Figure-1: I call this my Asian BBQ pulled pork. Figure-2: I baked the fruit into a Mexican Beef and Cheese Casserole. Question: Do either of those photos look like fruit to you? Bottom Line If you are a vegetarian, or vegan, but you miss the taste and mouthfeel of meat, you should check out jackfruit. Or, if you eat meat, but want to try something different. I say go for it.

I think the jackfruit is really good but wasn’t a fan of the pods in it. Also every single can had a dent in it. Like they got my order and decided to throw every can at the wall before packing it.
