This portable drain snake works well for any drain to clear with fast flow. It's small enough to fit on sinks and bathtubs. The removal of hair is easy without any mess.

Great product, hard spring, but broken cap
This was (almost) a great purchase. I bought it to clean out some very small drainage weep holes. It worked great and was exactly what I needed. However, the spring to activate the pickup tongs is very tight, and it takes a considerable amount of pressure on the cap (shown) to open up the pickup tongs. I cleaned out 3 weep holes very effectively, but after using this just once, the top of the cap cracked because of the amount of pressure needed to open up the tongs on the other end. Amazon gladly is sending a replacement item, which I am willing to do because this little thing gets the job done! Hopefully this was just a fluke and the next one will be a bit more durable.

Tried snakes and drano, not budging the clog in our drain. I remembered that the people we just bought our house from were complete and utter morons, and I thought to myself, “I bet they dropped something metal in there.” This device was very hard for me to squeeze, so make sure someone with strong hands is using it. It was also a bit difficult to get into our L drain and squeeze at the same time. But you could have one person squeeze and one person position it. But because of the location of our clog and my drain shape I decided to go in the the face plate in the tub. I also thought maybe they had an old drain stopper in there or something. That’s the kind of stupid things they would do. I put the claw down, then squeezed with both hands to open, then let it close at the bottom. It latched on to something and I was like yeeeeees. But then it was stuck. But after panicking for a minute I just pulled super hard and pop, out came a giant disgusting womens razor blade and a butt load of half melted hair. Eureka! Perfectly clear drain. I don’t know if this is the best choice for hair clogs. But if you need to pull out an object some moron let go down the drain, this is awesome.

The cable free-rotates below the top handle assembly and couldn't be positioned as needed
The top of the handle assembly on mine was very loosely and poorly assembled. There's a crimp where the intermediate cable enters the bottom of the plunger handle assembly. That crimp wasn't tight enough to keep the whole grabber end loop from freely rotating inside the top handle collar by as much as 90 degrees as I tried to rotate the top to position the grabber end. The tool was delivered tightly coiled to fit in a small package. Even after multiple attempts to bend it straight, a substantial curve remained. I tried a simple out-in-the-open test after straightening the cable. As I tried to rotate or move the handle to move the gripper closer to the target, at some point during the positioning movement the whole gripper end would just rotate as much as 90 degrees inside the top crimped tube. Since the cable was still not straight, once the remaining bend flopped over the gripper end would now be pointing away from the target instead of at it. Problem was much worse when I tried to use it more horizontally than straight down. I returned it and would recommend you think twice about buying it until they improve the crimp connections between the upper and lower metal assemblies. The top and bottom grips on each end of the long connecting tube need to be crimped or affixed tightly enough so that the cable never rotates within the two metal crimped pieces. You could then control where the gripper is pointing all all times.

Worked well till it didn’t
I work in Telecom and sometimes a wet conduit or wet conditions in general is un-avoidable. That being said after a few uses now it’s not working…. Squeezing the plunger does not release the prongs on the other end. I will add that it is NOT visibility rusted. Some reviews mention it’s difficult to squeeze in general and that is true but now, no matter how hard you squeeze the prongs will not come out. a little disappointed that after half a year and barely any use, it’s not functional.

Great for grabbing
Helped me get a stuck sock out of my vacuum hose! I didn’t know what to do and found this item was recommended on an online post. I think I got longer than I needed but it was only a couple dollars more and I will be able to save it for anything else stuck in the future! Now my vacuum has power back and I have a cool little gadget to keep around! Try this before taking apart your vacuum.

This sink snake is brilliant! My toddler threw more than 30 small stones and pebbles down a 2 feet drain hole. I have picked up more than 20 of them using this snake. One of them was a flat piece of rock about 8X4X3cm. I was pleasantly surprised.

Took many attempts but I got my toilet unclogged. One of my kids flushed down a black plastic cap and it was causing problems for weeks. Didnt know what it was but kept hearing this strange sound when I flushed. I kept pushing it down my toilet drain until it made the sound. Noted the point on the wire it made that sound and kept pushing the claw out around there. It finally caught and I pulled it out with great satisfaction.
