Spice Hunter The Steak Chop Grill Broil Blend Jar, Black Pepper, 2.2 Ounce

Love the smokey flavor, a bit pricey, but cannot find this product in stores. No questionable ingredients. Will buy again.

I have a lot of spices in my house that I buy and never use again and eventually toss them in trash.. I actually purchased 3 fit between wall stud cabinets on-line and had a carpenter install them vertically in my kitchen to store all the spices. There is def space for this Spice Hunter Mesquite Seasoning blend. This spice is very good tasting. It was purchased to perk up bland chicken breasts but I like the taste. It is not overpowering or underperforming. Any leftover chicken given to my pets, they enjoyed it also. I don't need to put a lot on to get the flavor. It is good on beef, pork chops, lots of things. I made a large baked potato for lunch one weekend and added butter, leftover pieces of meatloaf - a few left over vegetables and decided what the heck - a small dash of this mesquite spice mix. It was very tasty. I try not to use salt or if I do I use Himalayan salt and not a lot of it so this spice helps fill in the salt gap by adding a flavor all its own. I will definitely buy again.

Like all Spice Hunter spices this comes in a nice glass bottle, it's salt-free, and the spices taste fresh, but I wouldn't call it BBQ. If you're looking for a BBQ flavor along the lines of - say - Lays BBQ potato chips or Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce, that kind of BBQ - this ain't it. The cinnamon is pretty front and center. Maybe it tastes different if it's cooked into roasted meat - I wouldn't know, I don't eat meat - but if you're planning to shake it on popcorn or vegetables or a potato, it's going to give more of a spicy cinnamon flavor than a BBQ flavor. I'm not going to give the flavor a bad rating because it's a subjective thing - I just wanted to let people know.

I would give the product 5 stars if it wasn't for the problems with delivery; I have used the seasoning for 1 year and liked it enough to reorder. Due to kidney disease my husband is on salt free foods. We enjoy grilling and this is perfect to enhance the flavor of beef, chicken or fish on the grill and not miss the salt.

Once upon a time, Trader Joe's had salt free spice blend that was called "steak & chop grill & broil" It went well with just about any type of meat that I might want to cook. I had purchased quite a few jars of this blend from them so I wouldn't run out.....then I ran out and TJ's discontinued that spice blend. Not only that, they don't really have anything equal to it. So I went on a Google search and came up with Spice Hunter brand and the exact same title for a salt free blend. It even has the same ingredients! I am thrilled to have this blend back on my shelf. The price here online is much better then in the store. I only found one store locally that carries it. I hope and pray this never gets discontinued because it's one of my favorites on my spice shelf. Tastes especially good on pork chops, loin roasts, and added seasoning to gravy mixes

This pepper and herb combination makes everything--vegetables, potatoes, rice, chicken, fish, beef, lamb--taste better. It's not too hot but enhances the flavor of whatever you put it on. Use it every day.

I was happy to find another source of The Spice Hunter spice blends or solitary spices. They are always fresh. The price is comparable to prices of similar products produced by other major spice purveyors! I. This instance, the “Steak and Chop Seasoning” is one of a kind! I prefer it to “Montreal Seasoning” as the blend doesn’t include salt or Salt substitutes. A “Cooked-on-the-Grill” flavor is prevalent even if you decided to broil, sauté or bake your favorite protein. This blend is also available in Poultry and fish spice no-salt blends.
