Good product. Very easy to apply.
We bought this paint to use it as primer for a magnetic chalkboard in our kitchen. The paint is very easy to use. We applied 6 layers of this magnetic primer with a foam paint roller and than covered it with 3 coats of black chalkboard paint. The result looks really very good.We created a 40" x 20" feed magnetic chalkboard right on our kitchen wall - just on top of the existing paint without any preparation. The magnetic strengths of the painted surface is much better than we expected. This is a great product and I would definitely recommend it to anybody who is planing to create a magnetic wall or chalkboard. For clarification: The painted surface is not magnetic itself but is creating a surface that holds magnetic stickers.

Make sure you stir!
This stuff works pretty good. After 4 coats of the high standard, and through two coats of ckalk paint on top of that, I'm able to hold all of my good fridge magnets. But if the magnets are weak, they won't stick. It wasn't until the third coat where my magnets would stick. I would say I got closer to 120sf of coverage with the 32oz can. Make sure you shake and stir your paint because there's A LOT of the magnetized flecks sitting on the bottom of the can.

Do NOT waste time or money.
I bought this product to cover a 6' x 48" chalk board on a wall. I put 3 coats as recommended. I bought the High Standard thinking it had more magnetic strength. I only found out after contacting the manufacturer that the High and Premium is thinner so it is supposed to be smoother. It totally RUINED my chalk board. Besides the fact that the paint did not hold any magnets including the ones they recommend. The only one it barely held was a thin tiny plastic magnetic (the kind you get from AC companies advertise) all the others just fell off.I decided I wasn't going to spend yet another $64 to put another 3 coats and hope it works. I would be better off just buying sheet metal and painting or actually buying a magnetic board! Check the pricing, it winds up being cheaper!I painted over the entire board with chalk board paint. Unfortunately the magnetic paint made the surface of my chalk board like a 60 grit sand paper. Very hard to write on it and there is more chalk on the floor and in the air then on the board. I have no idea what to do now. This is my drywall! I am freaking out what $64 in paint can do! Anyone have suggestions on how I can fix the issue please contact me.

Very limited
Easy to apply. I used a small foam roller as recommended. Very limited as to what magnets will work with this product though. I followed the directions to a T, & with or without one coat of paint color over it, only certain magnets will hold. The ones that are flat & playable (like an advertisement, or football schedule) are the only ones that won't fall off at all. The ones with small cylinder shaped magnets (see photo), glued to the back do not work at all, & the in-between ones hold a little but fall easily & are not strong enough to hold pictures under the magnets. And note to self, if you spill & get on yourself or areas you did not intend for it to be, it's incredibly difficult to clean off. Like trying to clean up gooey tar. It took Ajax, clorox wipes, a scrub brush (forever ruined), & dishsoap to get it off everything.

Good product, but too expensive! Plan on applying 5-6 coats!
This is an amazing product, but I only gave it 4 stars because you don’t get as much for your money as I would like!We put 3 coats onto my home office chalk board (aprox. 4’ x 4’) in order to turn it into a magnetic chalkboard. The Magnetize paint/primer went on easily and we had no problems applying 3 coats on one sunny and warm day. On a subsequent day we covered it with 2 layers of chalk board paint. The chalkboard looks great! All areas of my chalkboard are magnetic - even coverage without any voids! Unfortunately though, only thick magnets reliably work on the chalkboard. Consequently, I had to replace the thinner magnets on my instructional materials with thicker magnets. Given the cost of this product, I had hoped that 3 good coats would’ve been sufficient. If you want your surface to work reliably for all magnets then you should plan to put 5-6 coats of this product on the surface! Depending on your surface though, this could be quite expensive.
