Very Helpful.
This is a much-appreciated addition to my rifle and pistol cleaning equipment. It is well made. It functions best when a third hand is needed. I am very pleased with it. A little pricy but worth the money. I recommend it.

Excellent Vise For Gunsmith Work!
I've seen many haters in various forums talk about this little dude. Personally, I love it. It mounted very easily to my workbench. I love the different jaws. I love the 360-degree ball rotation. I can use padded jaws to securely hold a rifle with the handguard on to clean the bore. With another set of Real Avid jaws, I can use this nearly like a barrel vise. I recently had a suppressor thread lock onto a brake due to thermal expansion and some baked thread grease. I had to remove the barrel from my rifle, secure it in the vise, and really work to get that suppressor off. Once I got the barrel in the jaw barrel-groove, it held firmly enough for me to get this job done (not rolling/twisting). I've also used this vise to remove barrel devices, work on my rifles. That ball joint is awesome to reposition your rifles while working on them. I really don't have anything negative to say about this vise. Wait. Maybe. There maybe is one thing: The spindle handle could maybe stand to be a little longer. When you're really cranking on it to secure a barrel so it won't roll, it does get a little tedious. But it's nothing that requires a workaround or anything. It'd just be nice if it were a little bit longer for more to grip while you torque. Other than that, for the cost, I really do like this vise.

Descent light duty vise so far. Maybe a master of none.
I needed a new light duty vise and thought I’d give this a try. Honestly, I see Real Avid as an overpriced hipster brand capitalizing on new and inexperienced shooters. However, I lost my Right Hand overseas in the military and finding tools they help me adapt and get the job done is crucial for me. While I don’t think this vise will ever be as good as my old, US made vise for heavy duty stuff. I.e. removing or torquing rifle or revolver barrels. It seems like a descent vise that should suit my needs for a small, versatile vise for cleaning, optic mounting, etc. As well as acting as a second hand for us cripple folk, as it turns out, hands are surprisingly useful and versatile. The attached photo is exactly what was in the box, less a 6 page brochure style manual. Nice they included foam/plastic jaw covers as well as carriage bolts (2-3/16”x 1/4”) for mounting. You still wouldn’t catch me using their “revolutionary” bore cleaning products. But I think this is a well executed and robust (within reason) product. Albeit maybe a tad pricey for a cast aluminum mystery alloy made in China product. Maybe I’m holding it to a higher standard that I should but, it is priced as a high tier product and labeled “Master”, but will it be jack of most (not all) trades and a master of none?. I will update when it’s got 30-40hrs on it and see how I like it. Or if it fails. Whichever comes first.

More than a gun vice
I actually needed a vice like this in a very short amount of time. I wanted to go with the IQ Vise (360) but it just wouldn’t arrive in time for a project I had goin. So I went with this from Real Avid. I was extremely skeptical since everywhere you read its gun this and gun that. I’m not a gun owner, so if this was indeed only for guns, it would be a paper weight in my shop. You ask me this thing IS the IQ Vise just marketed differently, to be fair I’m going just by pictures and specs it seems to be almost identical and looks exactly the same. Same mechanisms to rotate (ball joint), same clamp/clasp to hold your position. Etc It’s very adjustable, weight is great, performs as expected, very well made with quality material. I say this thing is for anything - not just guns.

Amazing product
Probably the best thing in my gun room/ reloading room. No more fumbling around and dropping or tipping over of my rifles while cleaning or mounting scope or accessories. Highly recommend purchasing this.... DO NOT try to tighten as tight as possible or could bend some components on the vise... very strong product. Just don't torque as tight as you possibly can.

Defective Out of the Box, Update: Replacement
After a lot of research and weighing options, I ordered this as I needed a vise for a project. Reviews online are pretty sparse with a common theme being this is lifestyle product from a hipster brand, and one should buy a “real” vise instead. Interspersed among the drive by opinions here and there are actual owner reviews, which are usually positive as long as one keeps the perspective that this is a light to medium-duty vise. Right out of the box I noticed the vise jaws did not open easily. I really had to crank on the handle to get any movement, and even then it was extremely jerky and rough. Inspecting the jaw threading I noticed a significant number of burrs and metal shavings. The threading for the vise jaw is either machined poorly, someone forgot to deburr the parts, or a combination of the two. I tried removing and re-attaching the threaded jaw vise assembly but unfortunately could not overcome the faulty tolerances. Very disappointing, especially as my project’s timeline is now delayed. I’ve requested a replacement and hopefully this sample was an anomaly and not representative of Real Avid’s quality. TBD. Update: Received the replacement the very next day so the delay impact was acceptable. The new vise functions exactly as one would expect. The jaws open and close smoothly (and after adding some Boeshield T-9, very smoothly) and likewise the ball joint. Increased rating to 4 stars as it looks to be a quality vise.
