Lovely pencils. Nice to use. Love Castle Arts products they are always great value and work as they should.

Good pigment comment and an excellent range of colour shades. The metallic effect they produce varies from shade to shade (as it would in reality) but all gives an effect that can be easily and effectively used in compositions.

I was surprised to see Castle Art had 3 different new types of pencils, Castle Art Gold, Pastel colours & Metallic colours. As I use pencils a lot and like this company I decided to try the 2 small sets first. I was not disappointed. I love them both.I will be getting the 120 Gold set next, but Christmas is coming first.

I was really looking forward to getting these pencils. I'm disappointed! 48 pencils with no bold colours. I'd say the colours are wishy washy almost mucky looking. Nothing to catch your eye at all. I'm a hobbyist with colouring books. I've got the Castle 120 gold pencils. The choice of colours and variations are fantastic. I chose Castle for the metallic ones thinking I'd be wowed. They're soft to use but I've found you need to be heavy handed with them to see any metallic gleam at all. There's a lot of purple, browns/goldy shades? No pure colours or pinks? They are easy to blend due to the soft leads. The leads don't break when sharpened. They may be useful for black paper? Come on Castle let's have some wow colours! Reds, yellows, blues, greens, pinks, oranges. Wouldn't buy again. I'd look for another brand with decent colours.
