Great socks with one small issue
Update: After over two years after of heavy (ab)use, the first pairs are beginning to wear thin in the heel and under the balls of my feet and need replacement. They have been fantastic socks, and I will buy replacements. I am upgrading my original review to five stars because of their temperature moderating performance in all seasons, extremely durable build quality, and because fur shed by my long-haired ragdoll cat does not stick to them the way it sticks to the Wigwams. The crew sock version is also fantastic. This is a very solid pair of socks for work and walking around the city. I bought them back in December and have been very pleased with how well they have held up through some fairly rigorous use over the last three months. I am a manager at a market and am on my feet for much of the day, and I take long (5 mile plus) walks through New York City regularly. These socks don't feel restrictive, too loose, or get bunched up while I am wearing them. The elastic, particularly around the ankles, is very high quality and these socks have kept their form almost perfectly. There has been no pilling or loss of shape after maybe 10-15 wearings and washings. I bought several more pairs of these in various colors and have been similarly pleased with all of them. The only issue I have with these is that they take a bit of playing with when you first put them on due to the double layer. There is a white sock sewn inside that you have to adjust to match the outer sock when you first put them on, or else it will bunch up and make a distracting lump around your toes or under the arch of your foot. Fortunately, I have almost never had a problem as long as I took a bit of extra time adjusting these socks when I first put them on.This was my first experience with more expensive socks, and I am very pleased. By comparison, I have since tried a pair of Wigwam Men's Rebel Fusion Trekker Socks, a pair of Carhartt Men's All Terrain Low Cut Tab Socks, and a pair of Nike Men's Dri-Fit Performance Tab Golf Socks. All are adequate socks for slightly strenuous usage, but they have all worn differently. The Wrightsock has held up best, followed by the Wigwams, then the Carhartts, and lastly the Nikes. I have worn them and washed them all a similar number of times. The Wrightsock, as I mentioned, has almost no pilling, no loss of shape, and the elastic has held up almost perfectly. The Wigwams have had some minor pilling, but no loss of shape or elasticity. The Carhartts have pilled rather significantly and shrunk slightly, but have otherwise kept their shape and elasticity. The Nikes have pilled rather significantly and seem to have lost the most elasticity and shape.Overall, the Wrightsock is neck and neck with the Wigwams in my measure. The elastic and build quality are fantastic on both, but I prefer the slightly tighter elastic on the top of the Wigwam's ankle, while I think that the overall build quality is slightly higher with the Wrightsock.

Excellent product
These socks fit very well , and are very high in initial quality . I used them on a day hike already and was very pleased with their performance . I will be purchasing more . Very good at keeping your feet dry and comfortable

Comfortable hiking socks
These socks are very comfortable and certainly do help prevent sores from excessive rubbing. I am always too aware of my clothing imperfections to ever wear multiple pairs of socks at once. Wool tends to be to itchy for me, and doesn't have enough stretch to conform to my foot. These socks don't have any of those problems. I bought these to wear in my size 8 women's hiking boots. They worked well until I bought new hiking boots that were mid height instead of ones that just covered my ankle. These socks are a little shorter than some quarter socks, and they do shrink if dried with any heat at all.

Great sock for backpacking
Great sock. Very lightweight and wicks water incredibly well. Appear to be built for the long haul. Bought another pair because I loved these so much. Use for backpacking with a trail runner and never get blisters.

Not worth the price & blisters
Not a happy hiker with these socks. Purchased this brand on a recommendation of a fellow (male) hiker that swears by these. First of all there are not any women's specific socks that are "Quarter" length so ended up having to order the men's medium (I wear a woman's size 9-9.5 shoe.) The socks should have been a touch longer on the leg. I have other socks that are "Quarter" style & they come up a bit higher. I have mid height hiking boots & they barley came out of the shoe - probably 1/2 inch). Used them on a 4 day hiking/backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon where in total we did about 45 miles with the 1st & 4th day being 13.26 miles each day & I only wore the socks on the 1st & 4th day & they ended up giving me a blisters on the side of my big toe and also got blisters on my pinky toes. Blisters all happened on the 4th day. So they don't win any points for claiming to be "blister free." Also had to constantly pull them up as they would slide down in my hiking boots which was really annoying since I was carrying a 35lb backpack. I think feel they are too expensive for what they are worth. I also had purchased the Crew style of these socks which were less expensive. $14.73 (quarter style) vs. $11.56 (crew style) but too big on me. The material seems like it will come apart after a few washes as well. It doesn't seem as sturdy as some REI wool hiking socks that I have. I wish for a refund but since I have used them probably will not be granted. Will never purchase this brand again.

Not worth the price
I used these socks while walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain for 3 weeks. From a blister point of view, they certainly did not live up to the claim of no blisters. I got 10 blisters in the first 2 weeks (admittedly walking 15 to 20 miles a day). I also felt that they broke down in the wash quickly. I already have several parts of the socks where the outer layer is ripped/torn. I found their performance really suffered several hours into the walk, when my foot was hot and sweaty. For the price, they are not worth it. If you are looking for something to guard against blisters, my opinion is you would do better with a biking sock that clings tightly to your foot but is very slippery against the shoe. The most important thing is that it continues to cling tightly in wet/sweaty conditions.

Fantastic!
My hubby works indoors and outdoors at a resort in the desert, so I got him these socks, after seeing the reviews about comfort and moisture-wicking for folks on their feet, especially outside. He LOVES them! He used to wear Nike workout sock, but these match his uniform perfectly, and he says they could not be any more comfortable. (I also bought a similar sock in another brand, which I will review identically, as he likes them just as well. Just pointing it out, so that neither seems like a fake review if one reads both.) Definitely a GREAT product and worth every cent!
