Fasteners Unlimited PP1031 Peggy Peg Starter Kit

A dream product for an "OCD" guy like me. I'd been totally frustrated with those big metal corkscrew stakes and the plastic hammer-in stakes just didn't want to hold down my awning.At first glance, they look like a plastic thing that won't survive drilling into questionable ground at RV campgrounds, but they are STURDY. (Must be the fiberglass.)I couldn't find one of their metal "hardcore adapters" to attach to my cordless drill on Amazon (USA), but the size you want is 11/16" - I used a socket and an adapter for my cordless drill. (The plastic adapter that comes with the kit will work, but I'm happier with a metal power socket driver for the long term.)Let me repeat my joy... With cordless drill in hand: ZIP ZIP and the stake is firmly in the ground with a handy line attachment! On departure day, ZIP ZIP and the stake is out of the ground and in my hand! The same socket I use to wind/unwind our stabilizers we use to drill these into the ground effortlessly and securely.I would recommend these to anyone who wants to hold down an awning or mat, and other things like dog leash tie outs.A year so later, I have found some harder ground may require moving or finding a better spot to sink a peg. This product would be even better if it were made of a really hardened grade of steel or aluminum that could still be used with the 3/4 in drill bit and use the rope attachments in this kit.

These are great. Using a electric drill they go in well and not a lot of effort. They do not work well in sandy or gravel soils such as desert soil as the soil is to loose

Awesome. I use a driver to put them in, vey quick and very secure. I do wish additional screws weren't so expensive.
