Works great!
The composting thermometer was just what we needed. Its long probe fit into the middle of our large compost pile, which was contained in a round hardware cloth enclosure. It is easy to read and durable. It has been outside on both sunny days and stormy days, and has continued to do its job without problem.

As described. I needed a long thermometer as I have a large compost pile.Now, if only I could get the correct mix to get the pile to work as well as the thermometer 😂I gave it 4 stars because it is a little pricey.

easy to use and read, wish i had bought a four toot but seems to work very well just have to insert meter in compost far enough to get a accurate reading. We test our compost to see if is cooking at required temperature to make good fertilizer to apply to our fields.

Easy to read dial and tip is super sharp
5 stars if the description was correct. The thread on the back is actually 1/4 NPT. NOT 1/2” NPT. After I installed a Reotemp handle the full insertion depth is 34”. If you don’t install a handle it’s 35 1/2”. The 1/4” rod is a bit small to use while inserting 34” into my compost pile. Hence the need for a beefy handle. I had to bush the Reotemp handle with a 1/4”NPT to 1/2” NPT brass bushing.
