Excellent item.
This cost way less from Amazon then it would have locally, if I could find it at all and this unit did the job. I had a horrible time installing, owing to the small sprinker box it was impossible to get both hands down into at the same time. I went to look at some YT videos for help and learned that when working on this valve the best course of action is to, first, remove the entier box to gain to the valve - valuable lesson, that. I did this and found in the process that I had roots completely encasing the sprinkler lines and part of the valve-body. It then took me two days to gingerly cut away the roots to free up the line and valve - I used wood chisels to do it, going very carefully - note, please, that the valve was at this point still not yet repaired. I then removed the top from the valve, the part with the mechanics in it, and very, very carefully mounted it on the existing valve body still in the hole. Did the trick. It was a daunting effort but way better than having to pay a sprinkler repairman at least a couple hundred to do the job for me.

The parts fit perfectly and function well in a 27 year valve system
Irritrol valves were used in many older homes 20 to 35 hears ago. They were of good quality that would last >20 years. However, they were sold off and now more expensive. It is easier, less costly, and require less time to replace their parts and than the entire valves/sprinkler manifold.

Perfect parts replacement
I needed a new valve but old on was mounted in the ground in the sprinkler manifold. To remove it was very expensive. I used this one as rebuild parts. It was same part number so I removed the screws on the top and replaced everything in the old valve except the base. Problem solved for 1/4 the cost it would have been to replace complete valve.
