Encourages Exploration
This is the first science box subscription kit our family has purchased. Some of the other popular science kits seemed to focus on creating one big item, and I knew that wasnāt going to work with two boys sharing a kit. I decided on this series because it provided a variety of items and a variety of experiments. We have completed two kits now (ābubblesā and āwaterā) and they have both been a big hit. Each box comes with 7-8 experiment cards as well as ideas for stretching the experiment further. Some of the āexperimentsā use the term a little loosely (one of the experiments was to feel the difference between the two different bubble solutions), but overall there are still enough experiments and suggestions for further exploration. The kit comes with everything you need. One experiment called for putting some of the material on a piece of black paper and the kit included the piece of black paper. As far as science terms, there are usually 1-2 main terms covered with each kit and it briefly explains the scientific explanation behind the experiments. Certainly if a parent wanted to use this kit to teach a full-fledged science lesson, they would probably want to follow up this kit with more thorough information. For our family, (children aged 7 and 8) our goal for these kits is to encourage exploration and a fascination for how the world works, so these kits meet our needs. Once we finish the experiment cards, there are enough materials left over for our kids to start exploring on their own. Many of the items are ākitchen scienceā items, and while I potentially could collect all these items on my own and organize them into experiments, I know I wonāt get around to it in as efficient of a manner as the kits do! We are paying for convenience and organization, and Iām ok with that.

Very entertaining and intriguing for little scientists and even magicians šš»!
I was doing some of these types of ātricksā/ experiments with water, since I was a kid myself. Well, to some extent. But even I got something out of this STEM kit! I found these water science ātricksā all so intriguing, so when I saw this bearing certain ones Iāve never tried, I wanted this, ha ha!Interestingly enough, I have two 6th graders learning a lot about liquids and gases lately. I thought this would be entertaining and educating, too. This did peak their interest when it hit the table, and got my little lasses off of their phones for awhile .. praise God, hallelujah!!!It seems a bit high in cost for experiments done with water, but it will entertain young minds. Smaller kids might not really get it, but will still be in awe at the outcome, and maybe get a good laugh during a āFAIL!ā I know I even did! I donāt mind a mess, especially when itās with water. Ahh ha š. A nice mommy loophole. But my ānewlyā middle schoolers, got even more out of it, and learned while smiling. Always a plus +!It may not be a play over and over again type of thing, after you are finished with the handful of interesting experiments, but maybe like my own little āmagic typeā tricks from my youth, theyāll be doing these as they grow up, impressing others and their own kids, someday. I still do that at 46!It was fun! Maybe a tad high on the price scale, but even I got something out of it, so for little scientists, this might be a really nice gift for under that Christmas tree. We enjoyed it!4 stars for meeting my expectations, and providing some entertainment and fun on an otherwise boring afternoon!āļøāļøāļøāļøI hope that my review has been helpful :).

Hit and miss
This kit was not perfect in many ways but it was still a lot of fun with a 7 and 13 year old. It was a great way to kill about an hour and half of a snow day while adding to their understanding of the basics of doing science experiments.ConsThe card used in many of the experiments absorbs water which messed up some of the experiments mainly number 2.The measuring cups lacked units of measure which was annoying when experiments asked for a certain volume. It would have helped to have a reference card to equate cups to liquid oz.The plastic bag provided for the experiment had pre-made holes which rendered experiment 6 pointless unless you have you own ziplock bag.Not all experiments worked. Number 2 was unsuccessfull. In sum, not a great science kit. There are many better options on the market for your young scientist to enjoy

This is a complete science kit, just add water.
Everything you need to perform the included science experiments comes in the package. All you need to add is water. The experiments are clearly written and illustrated.

All in One Science Kit
These basic science kits come with everything you need to perform, fun, basic experiments at home or in a classroom situation. Designed for middle grade elementary or early middle school students, there is clear, easy to read instructions, as well as information about the principles at play.My kids, ranging in age from 5-13, all enjoyed the simple experiments and having everything in one place made this a great rainy day sort of activity to pull out when you hear the "I'm bored" calls begin. It was a fun family activity and they maybe even learned something, so win-win.

Some cool projects but others didnāt work
The Good:-Some cool projects-Good learnings-Fun experimentsThe Bad:-Some projects worked and others didnāt-Need adult supervisionThe Bottom Line:This STEM water science kit was a hit and miss with our kid. He liked seeing how the diaper filling was so absorbent. But the water adhesion projects didnāt work. It was actually kind of a mess since the card didnāt actually hold the water. Overall, I would say thereās some really good learning in here but there needs to be adult supervision and definitely do it over something that can collect the water.
