The essence of this soap is precious and excellent. It scents the bathroom and I love the creaminess and the way my skin feels afterward. It may be pricey, but it lasts a long time and is 8.8 ounces.

Linden blossom is not well-known in the US which is a shame. It's a light floral scent but clean and fresh, not cloying. These bars are French milled, so they last forever, unlike standard soaps that dissolve into puddles of goo. But you still get mounds of rich lather and the smell lasts down to the last sliver of soap. They may be pricy but they outlast 3 bars of standard soap so definitely worth it.

First the pros and cons of the soaps in general:Pros: long lasting, gentle on sensitive skin, all fragrances are inoffensive and mild; quality ingredients, veganCons: fragrance wears off long before the bar is used up, bar turns mushy easily so divide into thirds and use a soap dish. Quality and price vary widely based on seller. I’ve received some old and damaged bars That’s unscrupulous Amazon’s fault, though, not Pre Provence’s. Bars from authentic sources have been excellent 100%. Pharmaca dot com and many natural markets carry these soaps for better prices and are authorized retailers.Fragrances:Rose: natural mild rosewater a bit weak, herbal exfoliating bits are unpleasant ***-Coconut: just like freshly cut coconut ****Verbena: clean cooling citrus with hint of mint and no sharp tones *****-Raspberry: green, light white floral, orange? and a tiny bit of fresh picked raspberries, which actually have very little fragrance unless cooked ***- Sage: light herbaceous nice for unisex or men ****- Milk: if sheets were washed with ivory soap and Burt’s Bees Baby wash and line dried in clean sunny air *****- Green Tea: herbaceous, clean, light jasmine note- Amande: Marzipan, gourmand without juvenile sweetness *****- Lemon Blossom: 80% unscented and 20% scented with lemon and mint. Maybe a good idea for people who hate fragranced soaps, but still want to smell nice ***- Argumes: smooth mix of lemon, grapefruit, and maybe lime, clean and lightly sweet. Good for anyone. *****- Wildflower: light and clean mix of lavender, bergamot, mint, herbal scents, white flowers, slight powdery note. Good. ****- Sandalwood: subtler sandalwood than most and isn’t as resinous good for unisex- Rosemary: herbaceous, smells like rosemary, cooling, deodorizing, a bit stronger than the others ***- Lime: True lime fragrance balanced with a touch of grapefruit and an herbal note to keep it from being too bitter. ****- Mirabelle: pleasant clean fragrance with a bit of floral and some citrus. Light and mild *****Mint: peppermint’s more chill cousin. Very light scent, clean, pleasant.-Honey almond: real honey with almond exfoliate. The fragrance is warm and barely sweet.- Lavender: Mellow lavender without the medicinal overtone some can have, clean, herbaceousI hope those were helpful. It would be helpful imho, if people would add the color/fragrance/size, etc of a product and describe it in a review. Otherwise. It’s not much help.

Love this soap. Smells fantastic. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Bar lasts a long time. Creates a good amount of suds/foam.

Nice clean refreshing rose smell. I love it. No side effects, such as dry or itchy skin. No headaches.

EDIT: I purchased this bar of soap on November 28, 2018. I used it every day in the shower, keeping it out of getting wet or sitting in water after using. I JUST ordered a replacement bar for this November 17, 2019. So that's ONE BAR of soap that has lasted 1 entire year. And the Gardenia smells amazing. I LOVE this soap.I ordered the Pre de Provence Shea Butter, Extra Large Enrished Artisanal French Soap Bar in Olive Oil and Lavender. (Say that fast seven times. ) I ordered it on a complete whim, influenced by the many positive reviews here. I am SO GLAD I did.First, the reason why I was looking for a lavender soap was due to recently getting back into work after 15 years unemployed. I am now working in retail, and, as many of you fellow retail workers know it....well...it's stressful, to say the least. I wanted to have a complete, relaxing lavender experience when I got home from work. One of the things I wanted was a soap to use in the shower or bath. So I put this on my list, and, next paycheck: bam.As I have Amazon Prime, it arrived within 2 days. It was shipped with another order, so it came without damages or chips. The soap itself was wrapped very simply in clear plastic and it is HUGE. I have been using it for a week, daily, since it was ordered and I have only JUST managed to wear down the pressed words / branding on the one side the company has marked.Note: I always keep my bar soaps out of the shower / bath tub, so it doesn't get gummy or keep getting wet so it dries. So far, after daily use and placing it outside the shower, it hasn't cracked or peeled or broken.As an aside, if you want to use this soap as a weapon, it IS big enough it could be. DO NOT drop on foot!Pros:- Arrived in perfect condition.- Very large bar, very easy to handle and will no doubt last a VERY long time.- Smells amazing and exactly like lavender.- No greasy feel, texture.- Despite having olive oil in it, doesn't even remotely smell like it. As much as I love olive oil for skin care and cooking, I don't want to smell like it and glad this doesn't.- SUPER THICK lather! Wow, does this lather up fantastic, and it actually is a thick, luxurious lather, if that makes sense?Cons:- Unless you don't like the ingredients, are allergic to olive oil, perfume, lavender? I cannot see any. Honest.This soap company has made a life-long fan. Truth.

This bar has enough scent, subtly satisfying. It lathers well enough to shave, and to rinse feeling Clean. There is a skin tingling texture to the surface that promotes the feeling of being Clean. AND, it seems to last (because it’s properly milled). I look forward to trying the other versions. It will take awhile though, and that’s okay! Besides, Pre en Provence is such an enjoyable town/region!
