I had previously bought magnetic hooks from Walmart and they worked very well for household and kitchen use. I had encountered no problems when using them to hang up mugs, tools, etc. But when they ran out at the local store I decided to look for alternatives online. This pack offered more hooks at a better price so I went for it.These magnets are indeed stronger than the old ones. Don't know what material the Walmart ones are made of as the packaging was very generic. But my husband and I did a direct comparison by placing one magnet and hook on either side of a metal plate. We each took one hook and pulled in opposite directions to see which would come away first. It was the Walmart magnet, which means it is weaker than these neodymium magnets.In addition to being a stronger magnet, I like the petite base which allows for a smaller footprint. My only complaint is that the hook itself is quite tiny. From my pictures you can see that a carabiner which fits just fine on the Walmart hook is too big to fit on the hooks in this set. But it would still keep the object hanging in place and hasn't presented a real issue so far. I don't know if one can purchase larger hooks to screw into the existing magnets, but it is nice that the hooks are not permanently affixed to the magnets as is the case with the Walmart ones. Whether I want to go through the effort and expense to locate larger replacement hooks is another question. Just wanted to provide my observation in case it helps another potential buyer.

The media could not be loaded.  These magnets can't even hold 2lbs. First I tested a 3lb weight with 1 hook and it slid immediately. So then I tried using 2 hooks for the 3lbs weight and it still slid down. Next I tried a small bag with a couple bottles of suntan lotion in it that weighed 1lb 15oz. I used 1 hook and it slid down. Then I tried it with 2 hooks and it held. So basically if you plan on using them for anything over 1lb you'll need 2 hooks. I'm very disappointed. Luckily my cruise isn't for another 10 days so I have time to get better quality hooks.

These hooks do not support anywhere close to 22 lbs.I read the directions carefully. They claim that if they are hung horizontally, like from a ceiling, they will hold the weight. I tried to hang an outdoor wind chime, that weighs about 4 lbs and it would not come close!I don't know where they are getting the figure 22, the instructions specifically state that the hook will not hold more than 3 lbs vertically, only horizontally, but they do not.These hooks should not be advertised this way. They are perfectly fine hooks for hanging light things, but claiming they are strong is a complete lie.

My classroom lacks display space and pocking holes into the magenetic boards is not a logical option so I use these magnets to hold charts in place. The first picture shows 8 laminated charts being held (approximately legal sized.) The second shows 4 poster-sized charts (the pushpin magnets at the bottom only have the purpose of keeping them from folding.) I punched holes at the top of the charts and now I can keep them together and easy to access to change as I teach. I never thought these little wonders would be so useful!

Theese little things are strong!! I love them, i thought they would be bigger, when I first opened them I was dissapointed, but when I put one near the vent hood on my stove it grabbed right to it and is STRONG!! I have heavt metal measuring cups hanging from them and a few in tool shed. Definitly worth the money soend and I woukd buy more if I needed that many!

The pictures show holding kitchen utensils, tools on a tool cheat (why I bought them), and held by a hand. It must be a child's kitchen, tools, and hand because they are not even remotely large enough for what I wanted. They seem sturdy and well made but small. I don't know what you would hang on them besides things like a set of keys. Very misleading images for this product.

These magnets are strong! I've put them on the frig to hang my most used spoons and spatula. I have several left over but I realized I can use them in my storm safe room (I live in Moore OK) and I can stick one on the ceiling and it will hold the lantern style flash light and no telling what else that I haven't even thought of yet!! OH! And when the curious cat plays with my red pin cushion, I can use this magnet to make sure he lost no pins - I think I'm going to spray it with a disgusting smell for him so he'll leave it alone! And I keep it in a latched plastic box!Oh, and don't be weirded out when you receive them because you have to screw the hook into the magnet.

AMAZING! we use them to hang birthday decorations from the grid ceilings in our coworkers offices! we got sick of staying late to decorate for our coworkers only to find half our hard work on the floor the next morning when the tape came loose overnight! These have made the task faster and give us more options!! plus they make it easy to reuse decorations!2020 edit:We are still going strong on our first box of these hooks and use them all the time! A couple have found permanent residence is offices to hang things from the ceiling. For example, these are strong enough to hold a small grow light above the plant on a shelf in my office. I can still highly recommend these hooks!

Don’t fall for the misleading advertising saying these will hold 7 pounds. They are very small and I wanted to see how powerful these are by hanging a towel on the hook, FAILED! If you want a little magnet for your fridge, they great, if your looking for something that will hold weight, look elsewhere. They’re going back!

Does exactly what it says, great quality, highly functional. Very handy, look great.
