I purchased this particular wood burning kit after doing research online for the ratings on wood burning kits. This item was a gift to our oldest son who has become an avid wood carver and was really wanting a top quality wood burning kit. He has been thrilled with every aspect of this kit and is very happy with how easy it is to use. We feel the value for the money was well worth it.

I updated my review from a low rating to a 4-star review; the lack of detailed instructions kept me from being able to understand all of the buttons, and what temperature the dial was set at (though there was a screen displaying what I believe is the expected temperature). I think this is a great set to start with.

Unit works well as I am a beginner. It certainly has the capabilities of going well beyond the beginner stage. Meaning there is a lot of growth potential in using this unit

Works great. Still learning controls but easy enough to do. Pens do get hot towards the end of handle, but still a good hold a little ways up. I am very happy with it and good price too.

I've been using the other kind of burn pen for a few years and kept telling myself I'd get one like this when I had the money (in town they're like over $100 for just 1 pen). Well then I saw this and had to get it. It's wonderful!There is a little bit of a learning curve but a test piece always helps you get the hang of a new device. The burn work is so much more smooth than the other type of pen with the solid tips instead of wire. Burning any words or writing is a lot easier too!

I received my wood burner two days ago. I have already made great use of it. However, I am stuck in the middle of a project because one of the screws snapped off in the pen the first time I tried to change it. Now I can’t use the pen or the tip that is stuck in it. I have left feedback for the seller and am waiting to hear back from them. I truly hope they work with me because I love the wood burner and hope to continue buying their products! If all goes well I will change my review to 5 stars!

*** Update *** After posting a one star review (below) the seller worked with me to resolve the issue. Fully satisfied now. After less than a year and very little use there is no longer any temperature control. Turns on full heat and that is it. Both pens.
