A little pricey compared to those pre-packaged spice packs you can buy at the grocery store, but well worth it. Bought this bag and the other one that's very similar. These are potent spices and a little goes a long way when used with an infuser and simmered in cider or wine. Highly recommend!

I love these mulling spices for making the holiday festive with great smells throughout the house.

Love the quality and blend of the spices and plan to purchase again. Would have given a five star rating but as another reviewer recommended, it does need to have more cinnamon, at least for our taste. Added some and it was perfect and a great price too.

This is my absolute favorite mulling spice mix. It comes with whole spices including star anise. They make another one that unfortunately Amazon posts with the picture for this one; -- so it is real confusing. The other one is called "Frontier Co-op Organic Cider Mate Mulling Spice 1lb". The other one comes all chopped up and costs about 50 cents less. I've tried both and I'll give the other one a strong 2nd place but I still like this one best. The flavors are awesome. I use a regular coffee press, fill 3/4 full with water. Put a good handful of this spice in the glass part of the press. I add a squirt of orange drink concentrate (bought at Walmart) but any type would do, even other flavors. Also if I'm wanting to stay awake I add a couple of regular tea bags. If it is the end of the day and I'm kicking back I leave off the tea to avoid the caffeine. Microwave for 4-5 minutes if using a container as big as this, less if its a large personal mug. Allow to sit and steep another 15 minutes; longer is ok. Strain with tea strainer or using the coffee press carafe strainer and pour filtered into your mug. If it got cold while steeping reheat in microwave. Enjoy!

Product images are lacking, but REVIEW FOR THE WIN! I use mulling spices on my wood stove or in potpourri burners more than anything. Listing photo is scant, but review photos win! I felt the need to write a review on this product because I noticed that several customers stated that the product received appeared to be more ground up and or less chunky than the product image on the site. In addition, one particular seller stated that there was no star anise in the bag. I suppose star anise might have been missed in the process of packaging, but my experience was very different. I am including pictures of the product that I just poured into a mason jar. As I was putting on the lid, I noticed a nice piece of star anise right on top. As I looked throughout the rest of the jar, I saw a few more pieces. I also find the texture to be exceptional and not ground up at all. I have not tried it yet, but based on other reviews, it will be delicious and fragrant.

This cider mate has a nice mix of spices and tastes very flavorful. Everyone who has a cup loves it and we make it year round. Follow the recipe because it is the right amount of spices to use, but you can add more or less and boil it longer/shorter depending on your personal taste. I have put way more spices in a pot, and the flavor turned out too strong! Boiling time also alter the flavor as well so watch out for the boiling time. It is a great addition to the holiday season in a cold weather! We love to make a pot of hot apple cider on Xmas day and it cheers everyone up and warm up your heart! Highly recommended to friends and family who enjoy hot apple ciders.

I don't buy these spices to make hot wine, since I don't drink alcohol at all, but I use them to make a drink based on black tea. I don't have a recipe, I came to the desired result by trial and error.
