I will support this brand for racing screw the expensive competitors...
The ARRMA 1/8 TLR Tuned Typhon 4WD Roller Buggy is a top-tier choice for serious RC racing enthusiasts looking for both performance and durability. This model comes equipped with a host of TLR (Team Losi Racing)-tuned components, including a laser-etched 7075 T6 aluminum chassis, shock towers, and suspension hangers. These upgrades significantly enhance the buggy's strength, making it ideal for competitive racing as well as off-road bashing. One of the standout features is its EXB (Extreme Bash) level shock standoffs, ensuring it can handle rough terrain and demanding track conditions without compromising on stability. The all-metal diff outdrives and gearbox internals further enhance the vehicle's reliability under high-stress situations, while the dBoots® Exabyte tires provide exceptional traction. The Typhon's race-ready build is evident in its high-performance oil-filled adjustable shocks, adjustable suspension, and tunable rear wing. It's also compatible with both 4S and 6S power systems, giving you the flexibility to choose your desired level of speed and power. Its aggressive design and factory-finished body in bold colors add to its competitive edge. While this buggy doesn't come with electronics included, it offers a great platform for customization, allowing you to add your preferred motor, ESC, and servo. This makes it an ideal choice for racers who like to tweak their setups to get the best performance on different tracks. The ARRMA TLR Tuned Typhon 4WD Buggy is highly recommended for its build quality, customization potential, and race-readiness, making it a superior option compared to other expensive competitors in the market

An amazing machine!
It was so much fun I bought two more!! At $300 this is an insane amount of value! Put the hobbywing quicrun max 8 motor/esc with a 18t pinion running 4s and it's an absolute blast!!! It's balance in the air and ability to absorb impacts is impressive. I'm going to set one up for speed runs, one for off road, and one as a backup. Get em while they last!

Love it! But I'm not sure which is more fun: building and upgrading the buggy or driving it.
I ordered this roller at the same time I ordered a ready-to-run Typhon Grom. I thought I'd play with the Grom while I learned to build out the larger Typhon 6S. Well, the Grom was back-ordered so I went straight into the deep-end with learning how to assemble a modern R/C buggy. Keep in mind that by assemble, I'm really just choosing and installing the electronic bits.I hadn't touched an R/C car in decades but decided to revisit it for something to do on cold or rainy days. The Arrma forum was a huge help in offering guidance. I made a few mistakes in ordering the components for completing the buggy, but fortunately none were expensive. It was just frustrating having to wait on the parts to come in. To save cost on this initial project, I built it out with good but not the hottest equipment. I think it's essentially what would have come with the Typhon 6S ready-to-run vehicle in terms of the motor, ESC, servo, etc...That said, it is a blast. our beagles love chasing it around the back yard, though since it's pretty heavy and blistering fast, I have to use caution around them. I've not had the opportunity to take it anywhere to go full-throttle, but I plan to soon. It actually surprised me at the terrain it can navigate, despite being relatively low to the ground. I was expecting to be limited to pavement and dirt tracks (or very short grass) but it's run through gravel/crusher run with washout sections, forest, mulch, and more. I hesitate to jump it much simply due to the weight and not wanting to be constantly repairing it, but I'm sure I'll eventually start putting some air under it.It's hard for me to say whether or not it's a good model for a small child--I'm leaning towards not. But, it would be a good one, as a roller, to build with a child. The transmitter I got (DX3) lets you set the throttle to 50/75/100%. Using a 3S battery and 50%, the buggy is still quick enough to be fun. 3S at 100% is pretty darn fast. 6S battery is "we're gonna need a bigger site" fast.If you buy it, I definitely recommend joining the Arrma forum. There didn't seem to be many noobs like me, but the people on there were very helpful. Oh, and stock up on some zip-ties to keep all the wires neat and tidy under the cover.

Favorite 1/8 buggy.
Awesome car. Upgrade from my V5 just wish I bought it last year when it was $100 cheaper. Setup on 4s for racing and first day at the track easily lapping the field with only a tire swap and some shock/diff oil swap. Drives just like my old Durango.

Just buy it.
Sprint, don’t run. You won’t regret it, I’ve owned over a dozen rcs from many of the major brands and I’ve been throughly impressed by the quality of this rig, very capable platform, fast on 6s, tough as nails, and very nice design for the cost. Highly recommend, this and my 6s Jato 4x4 are constantly my most fun rigs.

The most durable RC I've ever owned...
Very fun car. It's also very durable. I have a 1/7 scale Traxxas UDR motor and esc running 6s, and it loves it! Personaly I've made alot of upgrades and changes to this car. Out of the box, this car is setup for the track, so for bashing I've changed some parts out.
